Sorry, I tried a search but couldn't really find a specific answer or how-to on this but has anyone done the grille delete WITHOUT taking the bumper off? It seems like I should be able to just do it with a small dremel or sawzall, no? Every write-up I've read takes off the bumper but I see nothing in those steps that requires the removal unless I'm missing something.

Thanks in advance!

It maybe more difficult to get a nice straight line. But, if you mess up, the upper and lower are not really expensive. I have found the stock GT grills for $100.

What you think of getting close to the edge and then just filing it the rest to get it all the way. I wish I was in front of my car right now to see if that'd work. It'd probably be a real bitch getting the mesh net to protect the radiator in with the bumper still installed, I think.

I'm going to do this. I really don't want to go through the hassle of taking the bumper off. I already have a spare upper grill I got for $5x shipped waiting for me if I screw up. Cut and file.

Cutting the grills themselves is more work than removing the bumper.

Stop being lazy, and do the job right.

taking the bumper off really isn't that hard. I had mine off the first time in 30 minutes by myself taking my time. I had it off the other day and back on in 35 minutes. 7 bolts on top, one on the side and 12 pull plugs on the splash guard.

I'm doing mine tomorrow. No brainer to take off the bumper since that will take less time than the grill cutting.

I recommend a stubby 7mm ratcheting wrench with a high tooth count to get at the one bolt in the wheel well. Or you can take the wheel off for more space, but then...more work.

I always just take the wheels off and liner out. Easy that way and the liner is only push pins as well as getting cleaned in there.

I'm doing mine when my splitter comes in. I do want to add an emblem to my grill delete though. Any ideas?

Oh yeah that'd be cool! I had that for my 03 GT where all the honeycomb stuff is deleted and you have an open grille with just the little horsey chilling.

I broke the bumper clip where the cover meets the front fender. So pissed.

I heard that's pretty common! I was reading in another forum of a couple who did the same thing yesterday actually!
