I have owned a 88 since 92. We bought a 15 in Nov of 14, a eco. It's for my wife. We both love it. She has suggested that I get a new one and sell the old "Junk" I loved the old 88 but a new 2017 will be in the driveway in 2016. I too am looking for any changes slotted for the 17. Primarily the ECU. I plan to have the dealer install the Roush Charger before I receive the car. A ECU change may delay my plans.

If you're planning to mod extensively, you're better off getting a great, great deal on a 15 or 16 next week year.

What bar has Chevy raised? A slightly faster car that you still can't see out of?
I really doubt the Camaro is a good rush hour traffic sort of car. I might be able to get used to it but I would not want to plow near 40 grand into an experiment.

Don't like the visibility out the back of the Challenger either.

If you took my Mustang away, I would probably custom order one of these:

How We’d Spec It: The Coolest 2015 Ford F-150 You Didn’t Know Existed

near 400hp for not too much money, and you can see out of it

I would not call the Camaros interior cheap unless you have seen it in person. The plastics are really good at least in the 2016 2SS I drove. It's not miles ahead of the Mustang at all but you do notice small things like the top of the door does not have shinny hard plastic. The big deal killer is the lack of green house in the Camaro which made the Mustang outward view amazing. I would not complain if they added HUD to the Mustang, always thought it was gimmicky until I used it, now I love it.

The new Camaro interior does have nice materials, but jesus is it bad looking. That steering wheel looks straight out of 1996.

Back on topic, I'd like to see a tft display for the gauges although that's unlikely, I'd settle for PP Auto and some new colors though.

This is exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger on buying a 2016 yet. I am desperately hoping that 2017 is the year Ford decides to offer the Performance Package with a automatic transmission for those of us enthusiasts(with bad joints :D). In my opinion, if a Corvette Z06 with far greater performance capabilities than the GT Mustang can be had with an automatic then Ford should do the same.
For me it's hoping they'll add the 10 speed. I am afraid that the 6 speed will feel too outdated and slow. This new 10 speed should add some much needed refinement and speed into the AT not to mention better fuel economy and a drop in sales price for many countries.

Also many people here are talking about sales figures but only about US sales figures. In the EU this car becomes a few thousand euro's more expensive in most countries if Ford sits still and does not change anything. If they want to maintain their profit in the EU they'll have to at least add a 10 speed very soon or they'll have to drop HP or price to compensate.

They arent changing this current car any faster than 4 years. Its still outselling the camaro, and the camaro is barely faster without the 10 speed auto. Ford will answer in 2018 with a 10 speed auto and updated manual trans. Other than that the car wont change. How do I know this? I work for ford and have friends that stand on the mustang assembly line. They would know by now if any of the process was changing two years out.
How about looks?
Any refresh?

Yep that's what I'm mainly waiting on is the 10 speed. Won't buy it till it gets that in it. In this day and age, having a 6 speed is kinda a joke in an auto. Ford behind the times in the transmission department. If they weren't going to have the 10 speed ready they should have gotten an 8 speed till it was ready.

Transmission development is many, many millions of dollars. No point in doing that to only have a 2-3 year life cycle.

I heard they may do a refresh either 2017 or 2018. This would include a change to the front fascia.
A power bump, I don't know.
But I hope they show some love to the V6's and give us different damn trims.

current 6-speed Auto is mature, reliable, and high torque. If they come out with a new 10-speed or whatever, don't be surprised if it gets a bunch of negative postings in the Issues / Warranty for the first couple of years. Or maybe they could re-sell the new ZF 8-speed that's in the Dodge. Supposedly that one is good. Although I haven't followed a Dodge forum equiv to this one here to see if there is complaints.

Your fanboy is showing, it's an all new platform based on the ATS, much stiffer chassis and shed a lot of weight, not to mention the mag suspension.

It's an entirely different animal and shames the Mustang in every performance category.

Sorry but it's the truth.
