So a few of us now have Mustangs sitting at the docks in Southampton.

I could drive there within an hour. So close but blooming Christmas is going to get in the way.

Fekin' hate Christmas. Bah Humbug!!!!!

Every time I look at my 'faux' filler cap, I think why? How can they get a car so right in everyway and then sit down, have a meeting and decided to give us this?
Easily fixed though with a new rear decklid and so many options, running pony, tri-bar pony, gt badge, blank or your own design.

Because first it looks good (IMO), second that's where '65 pony had a gas cap (real one)

I think that's the issue, its not real. All the design ideas they took from the 65 such as toggle switches, door creases, lights and that are great and trust me, if I was filling up the car with fuel from the rear panel, it would be great.

Which is fair enough, but we don't have a history over here of cars with gas caps anywhere other than where it is on this new Mustang.

Sure there were the odd one or two but they weren't a design feature of an iconic car.

They just look out of place over here in 2015.

I'm with you kz  How great to have two cars 50 years apart? I'm looking forward to the experience when I eventually get my 2016 car.

Actually I don't mind any style of badge on the rear of the cars. It's good that there can be a choice. My biggest annoyance is that you can't still get a real central filler cap. My '65 is SO practical at filling stations because you never have to pick a side! Okay I admit there may be a minor safety issue with that but hey, it's so cool

I rented a '72 in LA in the early 90s. Had to find a leaded petrol station to fill it and spent ages walking around the car looking for the filler.

Must of been scratching my head for 10 minutes when a guy in a beautiful 60s Corvette pulled up and shouted "Hey buddy! It's behind the plate".

Sure enough the rear plate was spring loaded and behind it was the gas cap.

Good point :D

I just rang mine....again to see if there was any news but they know nothing apart from the fact that it is in Southampton going through customs.

Didn't that happen in Zeebrugge?
