received an used acessport unmarried. purchased a 91 tune and a e30 tune from adam. uploaded the tune to car. getting the 91 tune set in first but know need the octane adjust ratio to hit -1.00 first before datalogging stuff for revisions. so after taking the car after flashing the tune, OAR stayed an 0.00. turned if off having to get ready for work. went to work then stared at -1.00 already. left work was still at -1.00 but noticed as I give it gas it starts to drop off to around-.70 . went to my girls house drove a while than also noticed it droping even more to like -.50. left it like that for the night. woke up this morning, plugged in access port read -1.00 drove home without giving it much gas and stayed at -1.00 once I got home. so is it dialed in already or am I doing something wrong? keep in mind I don't keep the access port plugged in while car is off, only plug in to obd2 port when car is on. thanks for any advise or insight

I always thought the OAR was in the keep alive memory. Very odd that you had it at -.5 then the next day when you turned it on it was as -1.00. It should start right where it left off when you turned off the car and then adjust accordingly.

Seems very erratic, are you using top tier gas? After mine hit -1.00, in the past month I have noticed it "one time" dip to -.98 for a second then return back, no clue how yours is having such a big variance.

I currently have the shell v power gas 91 octane. I'm planning the run Valero 91 gas since its only gas station where I live that actually has the top tier gas logo at the gas stations

It would only drop from -1.00 oar when you have bad gas

It starts at -1.00 because I force OAR on startup. If you are having problems with it dropping while you are driving that is because your fuel is crap, the same thing I told you via email.

I will have to change your tune up if you are dropping OAR. Email me.

Adam, this is what I was talking about months ago being a potential issue forcing OAR to -1. I was under the impression that your strategy involved using the OAR to adjust timing accordingly. So if someone puts in crap 87 octane fuel but your ecu is forcing to think it top tier 93, then won't it be advancing timing instead of backing off which is what I thought the whole purpose of the OAR was for, at least on stock; I thought it enabled you to ride different octane's and your ecu will adjust timing accordingly. -1 the most advance in timing, and 1 is the most retarded timing, associated with 93 and 87 respectively and every value in between.

The car has to physically knock in order for OAR to drop, so if you are putting in 87 octane in your car you should be flashing a 87 tuned map. You don't want to rely on OAR to drop timing in order for you to run 87, that is the wrong way to do it as boost and AFR needs to be changed to accommodate such a poor quality fuel.
