So the Premiums have the colored factory diffuser, I would like to get your input on the RTR Rear Diffuser, what do you think it would look like colored matched similar to the factory.

painting it to be the body color would be different. I would recommend going to the photoshop thread under the Photos Section and see if someone can photoshop it in a body color for you

i think it would look weird because it's bigger than oem. black makes it not look so big. photoshop needed for sure.

I think it would look bad. IMO. Should look great as-is against silver.

Right on here - I love Ingot a lot and I too would be curious to see what it would actually look like. Any PhotoShop junkies in here?

At the end of the day, this is your Mustang and it's on you to modify it anyway you see fit!

It depends on whether you want your car to look like silver above and black below the bumper, or if you want the diffuser to be a feature that draws the eye.

I want the unpainted RTR for my yellow car. How dirty does your silver one get now?

I had quickly done one in white, to see how it would look. Be warned, it was a VERY quick edit, so it's not exactly pretty. Still, I would definitely paint mine to match the OEM diffuser.

I'll try to 'chop one in silver for you when I get home. Or American Muscle can always send me one and I'll paint it and install it and post real pics :p

i already asked! me first! :D

although I probably wouldn't paint it CO though.

it just such a big piece though compared to oem... it being more obvious will definitely make it more obvious especially at the top of it because it has that upper lip on the rtr that sticks out further than the bumper itself.

look at the reverse light in this pic, you'll see what I mean by the big lip sticking outwards on the valance...but it may look good painted, who knows until someone does it...i don't think any photoshop will prove how it really could look.

Haha, well if you've got 1st in line, I'm calling 2nd.

Totally know what you mean. I don't know though... I think it looks pretty good with some color.

after seeing it photoshop in body color, it has potential of being a nice mod. I think it would depend on the body color tho. I don't know if something bright like Triple Yellow or CO would look good.

I dunno about that.... Kinda looks funny painted a light color like that. In fact, it looks like a Seagull in flight under the rear bumper when combined with the unpainted black rear pieces. It might look better if EVERYTHING (everything black (trim piece and diffuser)) were all painted if you go that route. Just my .02 cents!

I think I like the white? I "think" I do...I'm not sure..I think RTR's texture look and feel bring the rear end together but I'd have to see one in person!

so the rtr valance does indeed have a texture to it? so if it was painted it would be an obvious texture showing or would you say it would need to be sanded down to get slick like oem painted?

RTR Advertises as such:

  • Features a Grained Texture

To get the right look I'd sand the hell out of it if it's getting color-matched
