these threads always turn fun............

back to the topic at hand: coming from a supercharged 07 Sublime Daytona charger to my v6 (lease for the next 3 years while I adjust to the bills of a new home, etc and spend money on my true love - guns) I will say this: Unless you want to race all around town, the 6 is plenty car with plenty power for dealing with everyday traffic and having a good looking ride (especially with some cosmetic mods). If you havent got your speed demon fix in life yet (I had 7 years of it), and you primarily want to take off red light to red light, etc, then it may not be for you.

The radio in the 6 deff leaves a lot to be desired, that is my only main complaint.......but.......there are options trickling out to take care of that with even better options surely on the way.

Again, a different radio, a different color dash trim, oh wait.........ugly chrome toggle switches........ oh oh oh ambient lighting at night (which is not a cosmetic difference 24/7) sooooooooooooooo different....I mean, it looks like an entirely different car!!

Recaros are not in every single non base car so that does not even count for comparison
Like I said, not everyone has to get premium, it's personal choice. Personally, I enjoy my 12 speakers, sub, HD radio, driver's seat and mirror memory, ambient lighting, heated and cooled leather seats, Sync 3, NAV, cool toggle switches, BLIS, etc.

those are all nice things..... features........but most dont change the physical LOOK of the interior much, that makes these guys think they are in a lambo compared to a civic when they keep referring to the "ugly looking base interior".....I mean, a switch for heat / cold does not make the interior really look any different

True. I know people that want all the interior goodies and I know people that don't want it. I'm not a fan of all that stuff and all I really need is the most basic stuff on my car...a radio (with aux) and a/c. I never really focused on the interior and I always got the basic crap on my past cars. I think I am stuck in the 90s/early 2000s haha. My 2015 v6 has a backup camera and I never use it, in fact I tried to use it before when parking backwards and I ended up crooked. I like the mirrors

Not true. The toggle switches are not necessary, but really make the cabin look cooler. Ditto the contrast stitching on the dash; the fake-leather on the center console and door tops; the stitched leather door cards; the aluminum dash panel; the little pony logos embossed in the leather seats on my 50th Anniversary package; etc.

When I bought my really-good-bargain cyclone convertible, I always planned to change out the standard factory cloth seats to Katskins leather... after riding around with the standard seats for a month I realized how these were the best and most comfortable cloth bucket seats I've ever experienced.
^^^THIS^^^

This was my exact plan - Katzkins (w/heaters) as the first mod. I'll still get leather someday, but the cloth is so nice I can push that down toward the bottom of the mod list.

OP - I am very happy with my V6...no "ragrets"! Since I had to have a convertible, the EB and GT 'verts with their mandatory Premium trim levels were out of the question from a cost standpoint.

There are plenty of mods out there for a V6 if you ever decide you want to go that route. My headers added 9 hp, and I have axle backs and a tune on the way, which will add about another 16 hp or so.

Would I have liked to get a V8? Sure. But I still grin from ear to ear every time I drive my V6...can't complain about that!! I have never felt like I had to "settle" for a V6. Highly recommended!

..........aluminum dash panel? Chrome toggle switches? WHO exactly is that "cooler" / "nicer" to? Shiny crap in interiors is outdated as hell.......its bad enough the AC vents are chrome looking and the handles on the door are bright silver.

But yea.........the things I quoted were 90% electronic, not stitching etc

but......."little pony emblems in the seats" and "stiching" ......... these are Tiny / small features that DO NOT provide significant enough visual change to warrant a statement such as the base interior is "ugly" in comparison. (not saying you specifically said that).....Is the premium interior nicer? Of course, but does it look night and day different? Nope

Actually, I never said that the base was ugly. I even said I was considering one. I got nothing against the base.

Yep, exactly the way to look at it. Choose which one works for YOU.

I know you didnt man........thats why I said "these guys" meaning some of the others that have posted in here

There is a difference between a logical statement, stating the obvious (yours) vs some of the blatant bashing statements that have no real backbone

The bigger console display in the premium is cool. Looks good, and its more useful for the backup camera. Whether its $5k of cool? Be nice if Ford made BLIS and ACC / FCW options available to base mustangs. After all, those are safety features.

To each their own, man... chrome looks absolutely awesome; the only time there's too much chrome is if it glares in your eyes too obtrusively or if it's in contact with your hands to burn your skin in the summertime. Neither are a problem for me since the vast majority of my driving is done at night. Call me old-fashioned -- even though I don't really consider 34 to be "old" but whatever -- but the more chrome on a car, the better.
