I got quoted an extra £90 for Axle Backs and £200 for some vinyl stripes.

So, yes, they load you down for it. If it makes the car look more appealing to thieves, they'll bump up the price.

It's also more expensive to repair back to pre-accident condition, which does come into it.

Insurance companies do make me laugh, how can stripes make it more appealing, 2 mustangs next to each over, thief, lets pinch the one with the stripes, Yea right.

When I had an mgTF years ago, I had a hard top, insurance company nearly doubled my premium, because it's more attractive to thiefs, I thought it would make it more secure.

Blooming heck! Thought it would be an extra 20 quid not 200. Surely Mustangs will be in the steal to order category regardless of whether they have stripes or not.

Looks like I'll stay plain with CO then.
