Is the P-Zero that bad in cold? I've had many summer tires and non of them were this bad. Granted I have all season P Zero Nero.
Granted I've been driving pretty conservatively breaking in the car.
I've been driving on mine below 35 degrees in the morning with 0problem.
When cold and wet I've used snow/ice mode and have been fine.

Although right now its 61deg in mid December, pretty nice :)

I have never found a Set of Pirellis I liked. I agree that Ford made a mistake aligning with them. P zero must mean the am out of grip they have during any kind of precipitation.

I don't know why you would do that. That may work, but increasing the risk of an accident. And that's way more expensive than a set of appropriate tires.

In the last few weeks it's been 40-45 degrees on my way to work. Car has been perfectly fine, no tire chirp or loss of grip and that's driving in normal mode. People really underestimate how much your right foot and that gear selector contribute to safe driving...

I don't have a few grand laying around to spend on tires to use for a few months out of year.

I've yet to have even the traction control kick in. The commute to work is only about 3 miles each way on neighborhood roads.

If it snows I'll be using my truck.

It was 30° a couple of days ago and just when I thought the tires couldnt be any worse, they were! Grip was unchanged (next to nonexistant) but they were actually lumpy. Yes, lumpy, like no longer round LOL. Took about five minutes before they started to feel round and gain 1-2 psi. Definitely have to drive a lot more conservative than normal but it will be at least another month before I can do tires. New house, new furniture, new empty bank account LOL.

GT never makes it out of the neighborhood ? :faint:

What's the stopping power on cold summer tires?

Set of all-seasons is a sensible compromise. Run them all year, unless tracking the car

No doubt I will be getting a set of all season as the replacement for the summer tires it came with. When these wear out.

It will be the first and last pair of summer tires the car wears.

I have been driving in rain/snow mode just to keep my throttle under control on this tiny 4 banger just so I wouldn't break traction. It's suppose to snow in 2-3 weeks, so I should be getting winters soon.

Seems most of you guys are judging the P-Zeros on conditions no summer tire was meant for, cold/wet. I picked up up my car in early October and I thought the zeros performed well based on conditions. Switched to A/S as usual around thanksgiving but I will go back to the Pirellis in April and give them a chance.

Mediocre summers will out-perform the best A/S hands down. Worst I ever drove were OEM Goodyear F1's and they still handled better than the Conti DSW06's I just put on. Throw a good set on and see if you want to go back to A/S's year round.

Why didn't you get winter's instead for winter if you're just going to switch back to summer's once the snow is gone?

Winter tires wear out faster than A/Ss, plus they should be replaced at 50% tread to maintain the edge over A/Ss. And for where I live A/Ss have worked for me without issue for 30 years so not worth the extra cost.
