How long till first contact by Ford?

Hi All,

maybe i'm being paranoid but how long should it take for Ford to make first contact after paying the dealer deposit and placing the order?
I placed my deposit 12/8/15 and nearly 4 months later nothing at all from Ford and worried that if they haven't received the order what happens then. Kinda thought some initial contact by Ford to at least acknowledge deposit and thanks for beer money would have been expected by now.

Am i jumping the gun here or do i need to make waves with the dealer?

Lol... Not to sound rude or anything. But 4 months is not really that long to expect them to make contact.

Can't speak for everyone, but January '15 order here. First contact was November '15. that's 10 months

Yeah I dont know about when you will get first contact from ford, but you can probably expect something close to 12 months from order date to delivery (if you are lucky).
So unless things speed up at the factory for our aussie stangs (Unlikely).... 9-11 months seems to be when most people get any real info out of Ford
about their car (Vin/Build date etc). Then around three months after that for delivery.

I ordered and paid my deposit in June 2015.
I have not heard from Ford Australia.
My Dealer has contacted me several times, since I ordered.
My Dealer has indicated that my car will be built in May 2016 and delivered in July 2016.

Yeh to further what [MENTION=14340]HybridGT[/MENTION] said you will probably have a bit of a wait and some uncertainty ahead of you. Information to date has not been free flowing.

We still don't know exactly what we are getting for our money, so in the mean time read up on all the different mods and all this forum has to offer because you will probably be in for a long wait.

Hi Brad , deposit down on 22/3/15 no contact from ford ,salesman anything until a call f rom ford Australia on 4/12/15 telling me build date of 25/1/16 . I had to ask her about my vin number which was given . From the build date it's going to be approximately 90 or so days !! I've learnt what it's like to be patient :headbonk:

Just as an aside, if you didn't fill in that form and specifically ask to be spammed by Ford, then you won't ever get any contact

Not true. I remember my sales person asked me sarcastically "sign here if you want Ford to annoy you with junk mail".

I still received email updates even without the marketing bs. Although it took 10 months.

Interesting - my dealer specifically said I wouldn't get _any_ updates from Ford otherwise, so I had to tick 'yes'.
