Body Parts Back-Ordered

I've got a 2015 Mustang GT PP that was involved in a minor front end collision with another oncoming car that suddenly made a turn across two lanes of traffic and wound up broadside in front of me.

The car has been at a local body shop here in San Diego area for six weeks waiting for a front bumper cover that's back ordered from Ford.

Anyone else experienced this kind of problem getting factory body parts, and any advice on how to get resolved with Ford?

If its sold on eBay, there is a good chance it is a Chinese made piece of low quality, knock off junk.

Get the Roush fascia and have their insurance cover it.

Yes. We purchased our first mustang in July '10 - an '11. Two months later my wife was hit. It took about three months to get all the parts but was eventually totaled.

Wrong. There are also take off parts. Just make sure it's a take off part. Also, OP can check with Ford Take Off Parts.

FWIW, my '15 was 4 days old and I had to have a new bumper and grill installed. Long story...but my bodyshop had the parts in a few days. This was last year though.

Wrong. There are also take off parts. Just make sure it's a take off part. Also, OP can check with Ford Take Off Parts.

Yea, I figured I worded this a little abrasive after I posted it. Sorry for coming across as I did. I just got too lazy to correct it. But there are lots of take offs coming out of Roush these days.

I bought one off eBay that was a new take off part. It was removed by Roush to install the Roush bumper. Great condition, great price, and painted to match perfectly (by the factory sine it was original equipment on a car). Don't hesitate to buy one off eBay but make sure it is good condition one, not one that is scratch and dent.

yep, there was some challenges getting parts when my car got rear-ended

they had to pull some of the rear parts off the assembly line I was told

When mine was wrecked some parts had to come straight from the assembly line at ford. One frame part came in not even stamped all the way because it was pulled too soon. The BS was glad I wasn't in a hurry I just wanted it right! You'd think by now they'd have back stock though. I guess a lot of people are wrecking them. Seems like 1 a week on here alone!

Call Ford customer service. Sometimes they're able to open a case and get parts to you sooner. It's not always a solution, but anything could help.
