So I'm still a bit confused on getting spotify through the car infotainment system. Can someone clarify for me please. I have a 2015 premium, fully loaded with all the electronic goods. I'm not sure how I can get the spotify app one the MFT/Sirrus or whatever it is.

You can do it using bluetooth... connecting your phone to the car and streaming that way....

Spotify (Premium) is better quality than Sirrus or Pandora, actually sounds great in my car.

I plug it into the USB.

I run all my music through bt on my phone and it sounds great... even at the highest level. No distortion... bass, mids and highs sound great.

I guess it depends on the phone you have. Hook it up to a $20 flip phone, yea, it probably will sound bad. :lol:

Well if you think the factory system sounds great then we obviously don't see eye to eye on what is good audio quality to begin with, so I will ignore your unfounded sadistic remark.

But that aside, anything you stream over bluetooth, no matter what source you use, will sound bad by definition because it gets compressed beyond belief before transmission as standard bluetooth audio streaming has very low bandwith. The only bluetooth based protocol that sounds reasonably okay is apt-X, but the MFT headunit does not support that. And neither will ever sound as good as playing a file directly from usb or disc.

After I replaced the two rear speakers in the backseat, yes it sounds great. I've had a number of people go "wow".

At any rate, I've ran usb and could not tell the difference between that and BT. I've always had custom systems... and this one is is not the greatest thing on earth, obviously, but it sounds clear mid and high and has more than enough "boom" from the sub. Yea, someone in their 20s may way to blast the neighbors five blocks away... I'm too old for that now.

By "definition" it might sound bad over BT, but get the car, try it and then come back. My guess is you will say it sounds shitty no matter what now anyway.

That's only kind of true. On a per channel basis, yes, Bluetooth gets compressed heavily. However, many devices are able to utilise several channels in a concerted effort to reproduce high bit rate audio.
