Not legal in CA...regardless of their claim.

You touch the cats, you've broken CA law.

maybe a vendor can chime in on this. they are located in Temecula CA so I would assume they wouldn't just claim to be 50 state legal and not have anything to support that claim.

If it has a CARB EO number, you're good to go. Shorty headers don't remove/replace/do anything to the cats. But it's gotta have the CARB certification to be legal.

called them. looks like its pending but they are sending an email verification as to whether or not it will in fact be carb legal. it would be nice if they are. anyways, should be in stock and ready for purchase mid November.

worried about volume. I think the volume is good with just the FRPP sport catback. don't want to waste my time installing headers and get pulled over for the car being too loud and have to deal with returning it to stock or dealing with the state ref.
I guess I could just put the stock resonator on, but that defeats the purpose of headers.

Shorty headers aren't worth the money, let alone the install price or the pain in the ass if you do it yourself.

Trust me...

You have to remove the manifold and likely will be cutting the cat off of one and welding a flange to it, in order to install these.

Therefore, modifying the OEM smag equipment, deeming this not 50 state legal.

Pending is not 50 State Legal. Pending on CARB approval doesn't mean anything...my 2005 Kenne Bell is still pending approval.

Don't do it if you want to pass smog in 7 years. If you swap them, may as well go long tubes, and weld some resonators on the X Pipe to combat some of the volume.

The only reason for you to get these Tyler is to clean up the engine bay a bit. We have great flow through our manifolds, it's the cat that is the restriction.

Save your coin for Long Tubes or nothing at all...

Yup, but even then....just going to move your power band. Unless you are going to be up in the 7300+, I'd pass too. Not worth cutting the hood and all.

I had one on my 2011...need to tune too.

More suspension or tune is where I'd go in your shoes. Dump that MMR POS and get something a little better...JLT or Steeda if you like how it looks.

I have an ngauge and tune coming. gonna see if it works with MMR then if it doesn't, take it to the range and fill it with holes. if it doesn't work, ill stick with stock airbox until something else comes along. I have a feeling we will see a lot of new product releases mid November.

I forgot about that damn welded cat. There's no way these will be CARB exempt due to that. If somehow it skates by, maybe the smog shop wouldn't be able to tell what you did...but that's a risk. Or weld up the flange so it bolts on like the passenger side, and looks the same.
