Well, I don't know what to do guys. The car that I found out of town has those panel issues. I know that it would drive me nut. I spoke with the dealership and the manager was kind of an ass at first. I told him thank for trying to align the panels but that it looks worse. he said that "My guys did the best they know how to do...." He also said that he had never heard of any issues with panel alignment from the factory. He went so far as to tell me that "everything is under warranty...just buy it and have it fixed locally".

The other option is just wait for my order to come in. My Dealer here in town called me last night and said that Ford contacted him late yesterday as said that Ford is releasing the held cars to be inspected and repaired at the dealerships. That is very good news but he didn't have an ETA. I will call around today to see if I can get more information.

I think I'm just going to wait. What do you guys think?
What are you going to do if our cars have panel alignment issues too? I've been worrying about that and what I plan on doing. I don't know if those alignment issues are fixable.

Ford's friends and neighbors IS x-plan. So if you already have the x-plan or other savings as true-car, usaa, etc. you won't be saving nothing.
Correct, unless it it's done as a rebate. Rebates come off the the A/Z/X plan pricing.

Deysha,
Any idea how Ford is going about these repairs for the cars on hold? It's getting extremely frustrating that cars ordered after our build week are getting ETA's before ours.
Unfortunately no, I don’t, rl16v6. None of that information has been shared with anyone yet.

Isn't funny that we just customers, with no affiliation to ford whatsoever, can dig out and know more information than actual people who work for Ford? Kinda embarrassing if you ask me.
I totally understand where you’re coming from, olla.

Even if your car was delivered to the dealership and there is a current recall it's against the law for your dealer to sell it prior to performing the recall on it.
That is correct, PonyGrrrl.

My Ford owner account says otherwise. My 2016 GT that's en route has a recall notice also.. It was held at the factory and was released for shipping.

If it's not a recall then why are they sending inspectors to inspect vehicles before they are released and delivered? I'm calling bs on your dealer.
This is a “Compliance Recall” which is a tad different to a “Safety Recall” in the dealer’s eyes.

How long does FordService typically take to get back to you with a reply to your VIN about your mustangs location?
Normally 2 business days, but I’ve been a little slammed here, Heardcuh. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

FordService Deysha can you confirm the cars are being released to dealers for inspection?
That part I’m not able to confirm at this time, Ozzmosis86. But, I’m looking into it.

Deysha

My dealer is really trying to get the car on the road for me. They said they'd even take the sear belt parts off of another car in stock to help me out if no parts are available for the recalled cars.

I don't understand how they can still be building new cars with the parts we need to get our's fixed.

I just want to reiterate that you have been absolutely great, Deysha. It's clearly a lack of information that has exacerbated this problem, but you have been a wonderful asset to this forum. I hope you don't take any of our complaining as an insult to you in any way. It's mostly to blow off steam.

My dealer just called and the dealership owner talked to someone at Ford that said they will NOT be shipping the cars from the railyard to the dealers. They are sending people around to the yards to complete the repairs there. There is no ETA for my car yet. He also informed me about the X-Plan pricing. We had originally agreed to $500 over invoice. He said X-Plan will be about $200 over invoice. Does that sound right?

Sounds about right. If that's the best they can do, you should sign up for EAA and get X-plan price- $500 customer cash-$750 from EAA. Should put you well below invoice.

No. I'm not using xplan or anything else and am paying invoice + $99.

I'd try and get a better deal from them. When I placed the order for my car my dealer and I agreed on $500 below invoice, before rebates/customer cash.
