I've had my mustang for about 2 months now, and I'm having a real problem with the seats. I'm having the following issues:

1. The right thigh support is always poking me. It's basically impossible for me to get a comfortable position for my butt and legs.

2. The lumbar area is pressing into my lower back and causing discomfort while driving. I've tried different levels of support and nothing feels good. Sometimes the day after a long drive I'll have a pain in my lower back, especially when I try to bend or workout.

3. My shoulders feel pinched the next day after a long drive in the area where the blades meet my spine.

I'm 6' tall, 165 pounds. I'm not a big guy by any means. These issues are really making me want to dump the car for something else.

Anyone else having these problems?

No issues here. I do have the Recaros, but am also 6'6 245ish and it seems like alot of people complained about them for bigger people and they obv have more bolstering. I test drove several with standard cloth and leather seats and had no issues there either.

Kind of hard to diagnose without seeing you in the seat, but a couple of thoughts come to mind:

Steering wheel position... what works best for me is all the way down and all the way back. I wish it came down and back even further.

Seat height/angle... bottom front all the way up, maybe bottom back up too. Backrest angle less vertical/more reclined.

Might try moving the seat farther back from the dash.

I'm sure you've deflated the lumbar as far as it will go, right?

Wish I could be of more help, as I've had those issues with other cars, just not this Mustang. It would be a shame to get rid of such a terrific car for an ergonomic problem that should be fixable. Good luck!

P.S. You might talk with a chiropractor for some suggestions about seating position.

I have recaros and no issues here...but to want to dump your car for something else? That's a little crazy just for the seating, unless it's getting unfathomable to consistently sit in.

There maybe some issues with your seats and I would go to the dealer...sit in seats exactly the same as yours and check if you feel the same issues. It maybe just be a defect on your seats.

Jesus man, sounds like you're too small! LOL!! Honestly, all kidding aside this sounds kind of strange. I'm 5'11" and just a biscuit shy of 350 and I find it as comfortable as my Lazy Boy recliner at home. My only gripe is the parking brake is too close for my big old fat thighs.
I even have a bad back that I have had to have surgery on years ago. Lower lumbar area.
Stock seats or Recaro's? I sat in Barton Shifters car at Mustang Week with Recaros and thought I was going to have to call the fire department to get me out. Thigh bolsters were way too high for my comfort.

I'm 5'10" and I find our EcoBoost's seats pretty uncomfortable on long trips. They have ample bolstering on the sides, but my back gets sore after driving it for 30 minutes or so

That's probably my only gripe about our 2015

Aren't they the same seats as in the GT? I just took a 4 hour trip last week and no issues at all. Shows how everyone is a little different.

I have broad shoulders, and I will get slight soreness on long trips like you due to my seats pushing them forward. Really glad I didn't get the recaros (I remember my shoulders wouldn't fit between them comfortably on a test drive).

Probably a dumb question, but do you keep a wallet in your right pocket? My seats dig my wallet into my right leg if I don't take it out when I'm driving. Just a thought...

6' 1" 360 LBS the only discomfort I have is the parking break on my thighs. it dosent hurt though. I've done 8 and 12 hour drives in my car with no issues. I wish LUMBAR came out a bit more into my lower back

sounds like you're sitting improperly.

try moving the seat back up. also, lift yourself with your legs, close your legs together, and plop down IN THE CENTER of the seat. Make sure your ass and back are touching the seat completely. No empty air.

i drove 3hrs one way to richmond va and back for a car show and no problems or issues.
seat was comfy and i was in like a race car. no issues with back or legs, could stretch my legs if needed and move as i needed for whatever reason.
the most comfortable seats in a mustang to date for me.

I personally have zero issues with the seat.. I love them, and so do most people that sit in them. They hug you nice and tight.. I tend to drive with my seat forward and upright but reclining it a little feels like sitting on a tailored lazy boy.. heh.

I went from a 2007 to a 2016...

The 2007 seats, as simple as they were, were actually some of the most comfortable of any car I've been in for a long trip, as good as many more expensive ones.

At first, the 2016 seats seemed far less comfortable. Catch is, there's way more adjustment options. After enough tweaking, I found a (more or less) sweet spot that's quite comfortable.

I'm 5'6, and the amount of leg room left behind me a REALLY tiny... I feel the need to move the seat pretty far back to have comfortable foot-to-pedal distance. Not the case with my 2007.
