Build Week - 09/28/15

My car was built 9/29, it was shipped, but sent back to the factory. I had an EDD of 10/14-20, but now it's unknown.

Shipped as in on the train enroute to the dealer and was re routed back?

As frustrating as it is, I decided to wait for the car I ordered. The only thing those of us with this seat belt issue can do is hope that the cars do not get damaged by all the movement to and from the fix location.

I found a car one state over that is close to what I ordered. Trying to decide if I want to just go buy that one.

I went through the same exercise you did yesterday. Ultimately I ordered my car the way I wanted it, not going to compromise at this point. I waited 6 months in 2005 for my new Mustang GT. It's just frustrating not getting getting any real answers.

All I can say is WOW! My dealer rocks. When my ETA was changed from today to "TBD" they were very sympathetic.

They are giving me a loaner to drive until my Mustang gets here since I'm carless.

Now that is customer service!!!!!

I just got told by my dealer that my car was put on hold by Ford. FML

UGH! Did he say if they were going to be able to fix it at the dealership or how long it might take? I'm thinking this is probably my situation as well. Just waiting for the dealer to catch up and tell me. My loan pre-approval expires next Friday. I was hoping to get everything taken care of before then. An updated EDD would be most helpful.

My Loan expires soon too. Sucks. I feel your frustration. I would have preferred for the issue to be fixed by the dealer but I understand why they held them at the factory to fix. Hopefully we will get new ETAs soon. "TBD" is fucking terrible. I can mail a post card to the middle of Tibet and get an accurate ETA and tracking. Apparently that tracking functionality for the customer is too difficult for Ford.

I told my dealer this afternoon to cancel the order. I'm just not willing to wait another month or more. I was also getting tired of their lack of communication.
I found another car very similar to mine about an hour away. I called them, in stock, come over and check it out...drive up and it's on order! Had to laugh when the salesman told me that once Ford ships, it's very quick, will be here in a couple days tops!
His price was terrible, so I passed...either I'll get lucky and find a different one within a week or so, or I'll wait until Spring.

My dealer has a car similar to the one I ordered scheduled to be built 10/20. I'm just going to buy whichever car comes in first. I hope it's the one I ordered but not holding my breath at this point. Hopefully at least the new orders are going through quicker and not being held.

So I got a partial update this morning from my Dealer, my car is still in the holding area 2.5 hours away, which is where the seat belt fix will apparently be performed. They are going to try to get me an ETD later today. I will provide an update later today on the progress.
