Welding my axle backs and x pipe

What does everyone think of welding my x pipe to my catback? Is it worth it? I have. Roush axle backs and ford racing x pipe.

I mean, sure, if you think that your clamps are leaking. However, it's likely way more work than it's worth and if you decide to change things down the line you're going to be irritated.

Also, I'm not sure what materials these exhausts are but if they're stainless the welding process must take that into account. While stainless MIG is a possibility it's definitely far trickier than welding carbon steel, and TIG would be a royal pain in the ass if the exhaust is installed.

Welding would only fix any leaks you have, welding it wouldn't be a problem but it's probably not worth the money. I've been a welder for years and TIG or MIG is possible with no problem especially if you take to a lift. It's just not going to be cheap unless you do it yourself.

I decided to sell it and buy a full catback instead. I welded my factory catback back together. Easier and less hassle

Depends on the sound you are looking for. Most people would probably go with Corsa... they sound freaking fantastic. It was honestly my second choice, but I instead went with Borla S-Type.

That said, Bassani has a mid-muffler catback that sounds killer and unique to most of the catbacks out there. It has a very deep rumble. Honestly if I had the itch to change my exhaust, I'd consider the Bassani.

I'm Old School, I was going to weld mine, but with the band clamps available today there's no need to. And butt joints make for easy removal when using band clamps. I'm glad that I decided not to weld. And the aftermarket exhaust systems today flow so well that backpressure is minimal, therefore exhaust leaks are no longer a issue.

clamps work just fine. Most shops will try and sell you on welding, but I believe its so they can make more money.
