I always had a thing for chrome wheels but they seem to be far and few between lately. So if you got some chrome lets see your bling!!!:headbang:

Not a mustang, but here's my 2013 F150...I was the very first person anywhere with 2015 Mustang 5.0 badges - I added chrome wheels to it...

I think ppl got away from chrome since it's just a plating and the stuff usually ends up peeling/flaking off. Especially on wheels. I say if you like chrome go polished aluminum. A little less shine, easier upkeep, more durable.

Ummm, from this comment it sounds like you've neither owned chrome nor polished aluminum wheels.

Polished aluminum is a bitch on upkeep. Chrome? Wipe it down. Sounds like you had a bad experience w/ some Cragar SS's back in the 70s. I've never had any issues w/ chrome flaking.

I'm w/ the OP. I'd like to see some chrome wheels as well.

We're supposed to believe they've fallen out of favor w/ enthusiasts. Personally, I think there just aren't enough examples out there on the '15 to capture people's interest. OEMs and the aftermarket have seen how much cheaper powdercoating is, so we just don't see many...then people go on talking about how chrome isn't 'cool' anymore.

Not saying chrome is hard upkeep, but the flaking/peeling. I personally never owned chrome wheels, but I have owned some other chromed stuff and it usually all ends the same. I've seen guys with chrome wheels and they have some chipping and such as well. Polished aluminum, well just get some aluminum polish and a nice buffer and you're done. Do that every few months to keep a good shine.

But to answer the main question, I don't think it's dead. Just a dip in trends probably.

Then you've had junk chrome.

I had one set of polished aluminum and built a street rod with a lot of the stuff. NEVER AGAIN. Every couple months? Hah! Will look terrible in short order.

Good chrome will last for a long time. Good prep and it won't flake.

Well i dont know about the rest of the world, but around here no one wants chrome because it is over done on the donks and all the f150s that look like autozone threw up on them.

I love chrome... real chrome. I havent like the look or feel of chrome on cars since the 70s. It felt real and classy. It had a look that just made you want to stare at it all day. Now it just feels and looks cheap and gimmicky. Just my 2 cents

I had two F150 Harley Davidson Edition Trucks (2000 and 2002) that came with chrome wheels from the Factory.

They looked awesome when cleaned and polished but where a lot of work. That is the only reason I stay away from Chrome these days.

This! Well stated. I have chrome wheels on my last 3 Mustangs. Easy as hell to clean. Look awesome!!

Chrome will always be around. One thing that never goes out of style.

Or this one.

Nice! I had chrome on both my terminators. Stock on the dsg coupe and 18x10 terminator style on my Redfire vert.

I'm really thinking about chrome fr500's in 20" on the LE. I think it'll match the chrome accents.

I have chrome accents on my Shelby project also. Good chrome is beautiful. Autozoo stick on shit is exactly that.
