Got my head back from the Porter, came out looking like it'll make power.

Here is a picture showing just how close the water jackets are on this head. this was repaired on both ports to be safe

Stock picture for reference, the exh ports are really really small in stock form, look at my thumb for size reference...

Check out the nice 0.25 shelf Ford left to deter power, just removing this shelf increased flow 30 cfm

I bought a complete head, I'm hoping to have head and FR cams on my car before the last race at our local track to get MPH numbers, I'll dyno it on the same dyno as before.

Do you have flow numbers before and after?

I do have before and after flow numbers. Just not sure about posting them here. I'm trying to avoid any comparison between this head and Venders heads. Flow benches are like chassis dyno's and vary. I will tell you they are posted on S197 forum under 2.3 tech

Nice job. I looked at the flow numbers but do you have the average after porting?

Where it broke through in the port, that was to a coolant passage? Almost looks like the fastener hole...if it is coolant, holy crap that's some thin casting in those areas. You'd think they coulda gotten the intake pocket/seat transition a little closer w/ those kinda tolerances...

You get it TIG'd up?

So the numbers in the picture are the averages Of the head lift?

Her poopschitz it is a water jacket. I could see the bolt boss through the hole, the porter repaired the oops. I hope i don't find anymore during pressure testing. There is no way to get very far into those ports to make repairs. What do you think I should pressure test to? I'm gonna apply air to the coolant side and fill the exh runners with water (thanks MAP for the idea)

Danfish, correct the numbers are average for intake and exh. Exh was seperated between ports 1 and 4, and ports 2 and 3. I was told Ports 2 and 3 numbers are easy compaired to 1 and 4, lots more time was spent trying to get those to flow. before valve job

Came out pretty good! I replied to your email about a cam tool.

The exhaust side is very very thin because there is coolant that runs through the exhaust side up to where the turbo bolts to the head. We do the water pressure testing for this very reason.

Back pressure could be significantly higher than that, I've measured 100psi of back pressure before.

I'd go to the max boost you ever plan to run +10 psi.

Cooling system pressure vs intake port pressure differential shouldn't ever be that high, but extra margin is important here.
