Take a look at this. The cams they put in this engine are the exact same specs as the 2015 Mustang stock cams. Also keep in mind the 2015 shares the same valves as the boss as well, similar heads. This could potentially be how well the 2015 performs with full bolt ons and the ford racing manifold installed, I guarantee even with the Boss manifold, it would make in the 460s on 93 octane.

i think the 2015 intake cams are bigger than the boss

The intake cam is the same. The exhaust cam has same lift, but less duration on the 2015 GT.

For the most part, but that shouldn't change the VCT by too much. What I'm getting at is that this IS the way to go for n/a on the 2015. After reviewing what a Cobra Jet map VCT looks like compared to a 2015 VCT, the manifold is really holding this engine back for making great n/a hp.

I just can't justify the cost of the cobra jet, plus tb, plus intake. The boss route is far cheaper.

ill be going with an MMR manifold if I get a manifold. I want solid motor mounts from Watson, and I sure don't want to spend for a new hood that I dont even like. Its easier just to buy a manifold that fits, itll cost the same as the damn hood anyway.

I absolutely agree. The Cobra jet is ridiculous expensive. However, I feel even with running the boss manifold, really good power will be gained over the stock. I would only get a cobra jet if I got a used one for a really good deal.

Honestly, at this point, I'm not apposed to cutting the hood for clearance. I plan on staying n/a, so if the hood is the only thing standing in my way, I feel confident enough to remove a small section.

yeah im not cool with cutting. I have plans for a Jt-B and 1000-1200whp. If I need a manifold, ill go mmr. Itll be better suited for the build I want then a boss or cj anyway, id bet.

Im still interested in the overall results of the boss and CJ but purely for helping my friend with his build.

Its very hard to predict anything. That Stangtv link to the Boss with the CJ also had a tune, headers and exhaust; along with the CJ, throttle body and CAI. Then how much of the 40hp total gain was the CJ and how much was the headers and tune?

They really did not dyno it in steps to see what each part added. Essentially they went from bone stock to fully modded.

If headers and tune alone could've made 25-30 and the CJ alone only gained 10-15hp, is the CJ worth the money needed the throttle body and CAI (the 3 are about $2,000)? That's the tougher question; hp for the money.

Do you want to dump almost $2k into a CJ or just go FI for a bit more and get shiz ton more hp. To me $2k for 15 more hp (if thats what a manifold adds since we dont know exactly) isn't worth it.

I also still think holding off is best as they will likely release a new manifold for the 15+ Coyote at some point here that is meant to work with the new cams and Coyote setup.

I'd get the UPR or any brand adjustable mounts to fit the Boss/CJ manifold....not cut my hood.

As for the test above, I believe that car already had headers on it...and a tune, if it's dynoing at 430+ for the baseline. I doubt ford will release anything besides the manifold that comes on the 5.2, since they already have two manifolds that bolt to the motor.

Back in November...looks like the 15 Mani actually flows more air. They lost both ET and MPH in the 1/4 with the Boss.

I haven't seen an updated video with a faster NA time on the 15.

Ok saw the Vid, as expected they switched back due to nitrous working better with the boss. So NA, the stock mani is still better.
