Life happened and then it happened again. Everything is fine, sorta was anyway but, everything is considerably better than it was this AM.

I will have more time to invest in things Automotive.
Happens when you least expect it.

Alright!!! Some rule changes in SCCA GTS.

Camaro tires left, Mustang tires right...

Looks like a 305 on a Mustang GT is too much for the z28.

Hey, whatever you need to do to win a title I guess... We wouldn't want to build a decent car.

GM Test Driver: "We were just getting tires warm when the HID lit up like a Christmas tree! I know it's going to be a challenge to match the performance of the GT350, but can we please get a motor that remains together for more than a lap or two?"

Al O.: "As long as we can get one hero lap in with our track-ready car, what's the big deal?"

To me the "The GT350 vs Z28 comparison doesn't work because we're comparing different generations" doesn't fly too far with me.

Sure, the cars are from different generations, but the GT350 also costs ~10k less. That's a lot of cash. Seems like a fair fight to me.

This seems good enough for fanboi's to latch onto and drag all across the internet claiming victory to a race they will never participate in.

To me it's just the current generation. If both companies discontinued their top dog every time the competition debuts with theirs then we would never get a one-on-one matchup.

The reason they're screaming about generation differences is because they suspect that Ford's assertion of performance is accurate.

They're already saying that Ford never ran a full blown Nurburgring run because "Al O said it never happened".

They believe everything GM says and proclaim everyone else to be a liar. There was a time when Camaro6 was more rational, now it's filled with just as many morons and gullible, useful idiots as Camaro5.

I agree with Grimace but I see your point too. It didn't feel good seeing a brand new Camaro put up against a 5 year old platform. Nor was it entertaining to watch GM put the 1LE, ZL1 and z28 against the same 2012 Boss either.

However, if Ford continued to do Spring releases, it would put Chevy in a perpetual winning situation with a September-November release. It would be a constant "what is Ford gonna do" and "How is Chevy responding".

Aside from the delay, I believe Ford purposely moved from Spring, Fall now Summer because they anticipate Chevy waiting for them to move.

Right now though, Ford is just out of reach with the GT350. An LT4 will be laughed at hard... I can't see good things for a car that already required 3 seperate radiators and will now need to keep a 1.7 liter supercharger cool.

Especially while a GT500 is getting ready for exactly THAT car. An LT4 was soooooooooo predictable.

Good luck!!!

Bringing their huge pushrod engines to compete with Ford's smaller DOHC Coyotes and Voodoos is like bringing a knife to a gun fight. The LT4 is going to be eaten alive by not only the GT350 but there won't even be any pieces left when the next GT500 supercharged or twin turbo DOHC engine gets done with it.

Can't wait to see the powerplant for the GT500. I sure hope it is twin turbos.
