Round GT trunk emblem from S197

Does anyone know if the round trunk GT emblem from the S197 models will fit on the trunk of my S550? I'm thinking about removing the chrome GT on my trunk and replacing it with the round emblem. I assume it's not oging to be a perfect fit, so I'm ok using 3M tape to attach it if need be. Thanks!

I think I may have inadverdantly answered my own question. It looks like the CS 2016 has the round trunk emblem. I don't suppose anyone has the part# for that? I've been scoping out the Ford parts site, but there's 11 pages of body accessories to dig through, lol

I think that emblem also says California special, like mine says 50 years. I thought I read that the emblem and black panel between the talights is one piece and not separate.

No problem. It looks much better, as it relates to the original Fastback which as we know had a round emblem:

I just wish there would be one for V6, but instead of GT, it could be just the horse, sort of like they had in previous generation, but without the stripes.

Exactly. I just always think of a round rear emblem when I think of Mustangs

On a side, I wonder if the emblem from the original would be a good fit on the new one, sort of like some guys place the old Challenger badge on the new one.
