I had the Roush Axle Back exhaust on my car for a while, with the resonator in place, it is a good way to get mean sound out of the stock car. The cold starts were always loud and even louder in the winter. Cruising speeds and you could barely hear the exhaust. Cabin noise was also not bad, just that rumble whenever you hit the throttle. On the down side, sometimes i felt like due to the resonator and stock exhaust tubing, the flow was being choked and caused back fires and pops. I was not sure if that was due to back pressure and the flow not running through the pipes freely or the Roush saying "Hello, I m here you know".

Now i have the Borla Touring Catback, this thing is quiet as heaven. Cold start almost as quiet as the stock exhaust. You get on it though, you can still hear the rumble of the exhaust with the windows down. Windows up, almost as quiet as the stock exhaust. Cruising speed, there is no freaking exhaust, its just road, wind and a little bit of engine noise. I felt some power gain though, the tires are getting loose more frequently even with the low throttle input, it must be in my head right? lol. I also have the AFE pro dry s drop in filter so i m not sure if its a combination or just the exhaust. The throttle input also improved.

I recommend this exhaust for people who DD their car and don't want to wake up their neigbors in the morning. It is enough loud to let people know that you are rocking this legendary coyote on high rpms. I prefer the car to be loud when i m really getting on it and going fast. This is it! Its loud when it needs to be, let me put it that way. I don't recommend this for people who are looking for an aggressive and really mean exhaust noise. For loudness rating, i am giving Roush a 7.5 and Borla Touring a 5.

A side note here for DRONE, the Roush had a deep annoying tone if you wanted to accelerate on 6th gear while running below and around 2000 Rpm! I wouldn't consider that Drone but some people might find it disturbing in the cabin. The Touring on low rpm 6th gear acceleration is really quiet. No Drone at any rpm so far. This exhaust does deserve the name Touring after all!

I have borla touring as well and I agree 100% with your assessment.

It is a great exhaust for a daily driver.

i feel like this is what it should have come with stock.

Ford racing x pipe....touring axal back

After watching all the videos I ended up with the x pipe....and the touring rears. Mellow sound until you get on it. Not really quiet....but just right for this kind of car. No drone in 6th at 70...but going through the gears it sounds wonderful.

Yours is pretty much FRPP Touring with the x pipe then. The H pipe resonator in the Borla version tames it down really well and adds a deeper tone.

I have the FRPP Touring and I wouldn't exactly call it quiet. It might just be my garage amplifying the sound, but my cold starts are actually quite loud.

Sasuketr - Do you have the Borla resonator with your Borla Touring Cat-Back exhaust? I have the FRPP Touring Cat-Back and I'm trying to find out from Borla if I can install the resonator in place of the x-pipe that's there now... I know the resonator is 2.5" in and out, while the FRPP pipes are 2.5".

Yup, the section that goes into the cats is smaller than 2.5 but the one that goes back to the muffler is 2.5".

Sasuketr - regarding your post #1 - for loudness rating you said you'd give the Roush a 7.5 and the Borla Touring a 5. What rating would you give the OEM GT exhaust? I want something a little quieter than the FRPP Touring Cat-Back with x-pipe, but I don't want it to sound like the stock system... Thanks!
