Congratulations! When do you really expect to take delivery? I see that it claims a build date of July 15th, so it should be ready very soon, eh? Pay way more than MSRP???

Oh yeah! Love that it is red, too!
I thought of the 1993- Cobra R.

VERY nice R ! I'm jealous......Only 3-5 months more for me:cheers:
I thought the R got the 920A ??

14 Cty/ 21 Hwy... not really a DD
Pffft... my DD is no better. In fact, that's the rating for my DD!

Notice the full vehicle car cover included on the 2015 cars?
That's a cool addition, but I'd expect it to be the "inside" version simply because most people buying these will indeed keep them inside.

I didn't know that these cars get back up cameras? Yowzer.
From what I've read, they're standard equipment on all 6th gens.

Nothing about a 526HP car with the track pack leads me to believe it would be a good DD
Hmm... can't really agree! :p

Everything about it makes me think it would be an EXCELLENT daily driver. :ford:
I have to agree there. I mean, the ONLY reason I wouldn't DD one is because I don't wanna run up the miles. That wouldn't stop me in this case. :headbonk:

Good point, my 2014 Limited F150 is getting 16.5 avg mpg on premium 91 gas... I haven't even thought about that yet.
Which engine? My 5L gets 15.8 or so. Admittedly, I have a heavy foot, but I'd really like that addition mileage. In fact, to get it, I may actually trade up to a 15 or 16 w/ the 2.7L(which is simply way more economical).

On these cars, I care less about the gas, more about the consumables. DD on tires that are $500 each and pads/rotors that will run you much more than that. But I can see the magneride and tech pack making this a pretty tame DD
THERE'S the stuff I was considering... tires alone will be a notable setback. The brakes and so forth aren't likely to be cheap or on the shelves of your local aftermarket parts store either, which can drive up costs.

But either way, I have a dedicated commuter car that gets me carpool lane access. I will save the GT350 for certain fridays and weekends:cheers:
The Prius? :p

Tires are one thing, but with brakes this beefy, I'd expect them to last for years if the car is driven with any kind of care.

Congrats to the OP!

Not a GT350R. The "R" is Equipment Group 920A not 900A. Also, if it was an "R" it would have listed Carbon Fiber Rear Wing, not Raised Deck Lid Spoiler.

Congrats! The sun will shine a little brighter for you on July 22nd. It has been a long time since I have bought a new Ford and I am impressed with the 5 year powertrain warranty and the 5 year roadside assistance. Much better than in the past. I sure am anxious to find out when my GT350 will be built!
Thanks!! And, you're correct - July 22nd will be a very special day indeed!

- Thanks! The build date is set for July 22nd. The 15th, I think, is the date that the sticker was generated.

I thought the R got the 920A ??

- I think the "R" reference was in regards to my username :)

You don’t want to know
Isn't the date at the bottom the actual production date? I think that's been true on past Fords I've owned.

Good question. If you look at the top, it says "blend", and above it is the date of July 22nd. My understanding is that the blend date is the build date - someone on the forum mentioned this recently. Plus, I called Ford Performance a week ago and they stated that my build date was July 22nd.

Also, I just noticed that the same numbers are represented at the bottom of the sticker on the right hand side - also the blend number.

So, technically, you are correct!

My stock GT PP got 17 mpg mixed driving like 50/50 city/highway. Now with a Bama street tune it gets 16. What this EPA sticker is really saying is you'll get about 13 mpg. And if you drive it like the race car it is like 10 lol.

Got it.

Incidentally, I took my truck in on Tuesday and while there, asked specifically about the production date based on my window sticker. I was told that the date on the sticker is the "actual build date" and he explained, that's when the numbers were officially added to the Ford data system and when all of that specific vehicles equipment was added to the same... so, he said, that is when it officially began and usually is completed within a few days if production is running normally. He also stated for sure, that's the date the sticker is generated. He was emphasizing that it's the official start date to make sure I understood about all the specific equipment. He went on to say, if it's on that sticker, it comes on the car and that the sticker is actually completed before the car is fully outfitted.

Idonno if he's 100% correct, but he sure seemed confident in his explanation(and I know he's worked for Ford for nearly 30yrs)!

For your car, I'd say production is a tad less than normal, but since it runs down the same line, it can't be that far off, eh? They are still using the Mustang line for these, correct? Oh, and I'm still wondering about the cost, not exact, but did you pay a large premium for the "rights" to this early model?

I thought the R got the 920A ??

Well that could make sense. Since he capitalized it, it just seemed he meant the car. :headbonk:

Technically, sure is.

Pisshhh. Way better than that, fiat 500e

Congrats!
I've seen at least 10 GT350's driving on I-275 near Detroit in the past two weeks.
Flatrock seems to test there often.

It's been said before, but pics do this car no justice!

I have the 3.5 ecoboost, but the Limited has 22" (stock) wheels and is 4WD, I also am pretty light on the pedal.

I've also had a 2wd 2013 F150 ecoboost that averaged 20mpgs and my last 2014 XLT ecoboost with 18" stock wheels got 21 avg mpg...

Secondly it shows this vehicle being shipped via rail and I question that as does not make much sense for such a short run?

Me being in NE Wisconsin, I'd think the same ... but every Mustang I've ordered goes by rail to the Markham rail yard (SW Chicago suburb), then gets transferred onto a truck there. So it certainly makes sense that all Chicagoland bound cars ride the same train and get off at the same yard.

I would figure 2 - 3 months from the 22nd. Safe ballpark. There is going to be small little delays here and there. That's what I'm advising my clients.
