For a base '15 GT. Called up the dealer and they said Ford does not offer a rebuild kit for the base 4-pots, can only buy the whole caliper.

Advance Auto however does show a 4-pot rebuild kit for $9.99: Economy Black Disc Brake Caliper Repair Kit

For a bit of background, caliper will be taken apart for powder coating.

Anyone have any experience with the seal kits offered at Advance? Or know of a better place to pick up a quality kit? I don't want some cheap rubber that will start to crack and leak down the road.

I don't think those will work.

Since the car is so new if you are careful you can pull all the pieces out and reuse them.

I also would not split the calipers.

Why do you think it wouldn't work. Advance lists them as being for the '15 GT non-Brembo.

And I'm mainly going to buy them as backups in case something gets torn accidentally.

Not planning on splitting the caliper, just taking the pistons out for the powder coating.

i just finished taking apart a set of front and rear calipers (brembos) the brembos are very easy to get apart, the rears however are a pain in the ass. if your doing the rears (think they are the same on all models) you do need to take them fully apart. there is a small o ring on the inside that would melt when being "baked"

I went through the website and these showed up as not being compatible. Just tried it again with no luck.

Keeping it together is a good idea.

Not planning on doing the rears. Never made any sense to me to paint an ugly looking sliding caliper any color but black.

Did you use a seal kit, or just reused the original seals? No issues with holding pressure?

And it definitely shows compatibility...

O'Reilly also lists the same kit, so fairly confident it should work.

I just took them apart, haven't reassembled them but I was able to salvage the seals, the calipers are brand new. I ordered a full set so I coul have them done without any down time. To me I think a car would look goofy with just the fronts painted but that's just me.

I mean its basically seals unless you happen to damage the pistons during removal... it wont be long before something is available.

Was this on a 2015 Mustang? My understanding is that only the GT PP use Brembos this year and only on the front.

Yes. The rears are just regular calipers which is what I was referring to. I also disassembled my brembo fronts, very easy to do

I am considering getting my calipers powder coated as well. Why would you not split them? Are there not o-rings inside them?
