Greetings:

I have two questions about the Cabil Air Filter in my GT.

1. What is the correct part number for this filter. The Owner's Manual says FP-53, but when I do an Internet search the vendors say it is FP-78. Which is correct?

2. When I lowered the glove compartment and looked behind it I saw a flap of felt and assumed the filter was behind that flap. However, when I lifted the flap I could not see the Cabin Air Filter. Is that where it is? If so, does it pull straight out through that flap and why am I having trouble finding it?

Thanks for the help.

The excerpt from the Owner's Manual that Todd15Fastback provided just says there is one and that it filters the cabin air. I still would like to know the part number of the filter and why I can't see it where the manual says it is located (behind the glove compartment). Based on the responses to this Thread it seems like I am not the only one who can't find it.

Part Number should be FP-78 (Motorcraft number) or FR3Z-19N619-A (Ford #)

And its normally located behind the passenger glove box as you said.

Send a PM to LevittownFordSuperCenter on the forum here. They can get the real part number for you.

It's probably buried under the dash somewhere; my 2012 Fiesta was a pain in the ass in that regard. Had to remove some trim pieces and a couple of bolts in some very tight places just to get to it.

Here's the air filter (it's marked as #4)

Looks like it sits right on top of the evaporator core.

Zemedici, thanks for the confirmation on the part number. Looks like the one listed in the Owner's Manual is incorrect.

Pic268: Thanks for the diagram. Now, is the Evaporator Core also behind the glove compartment or is it under the hood somewhere?
