mmr intake or mishimoto intercooler?

have a bama tune on my car, like in texas so have 100 degree weather so want a intercooler. local shop here can get me the mishimoto one for half down when ordering it with them, then have like 2 to 3 weeks to pay off the remaining balance. also was interested in this one because at the time of ordering it, all were out of stock so was thinking, hey if people are buying it must be good. then there was the mmr intake. don't have any hook ups with that one so going to buy it straight from dealer but know its the biggest intercooler and claiming up to a 19 or 29hp gain, cant remember which one it was. so should I get the mishimoto or pay more for the mmr one?

What's your eventual power goal? Mishimoto is rated at 550hp, if you want more than that you need to look elsewhere. I'd also personally suggest looking at FFTEC, their EcoEconomy core is what they are running on their shop car and has hit over 500 hp so far and still going strong. Send Mike a message or call. probably 550 should be fine. plan to put intercooler, charge pipes, maybe try e85 and ehaust .

If it's between Mishi or MMR, I'd pick the Mishi every time. I don't know if you've looked at the Levels Performance FMIC or not, but there's a bunch of us running it with fantastic results.

I would suggest a different intake such as the FFTEC one due to it working with a bigger turbo in the future. Their intercooler is also top notch and proven. Just buy their whole kit and call it a day.

Oh yeah, something else. Get the FMIC first and consider the intake later on. Tune and FMIC should always be done first, and if possible, together. You'll never see consistent power without it. The stock unit is a pile of cap that's only adequate for stock power and conservative driving. The stock intake on these cars aren't terrible, so I'd do FMIC > tune > downpipe > catback > intake > charge pipes in that order.

I have an mmr cai and it sounds really good, no complaints. Going with fftec intercooler next most likely followed by a catless down pipe and a pro-tune

Thanks for considering our intercooler! As noted by evin, our cooler is rated up to around 550 whp. Assuming you are staying around or below this number, our intercooler setup should work perfectly for you. We saw some very impressive air temperature drops and conducted a ton of testing and data collection. This was posted here on the forums (link below).

Don't limit yourself on options! Intercooler is the second best upgrade you can do beside tuner. You are missing out on all the sweet sweet timing your car should be getting with proper temperature charge air.

Although an intake is always a good choice, I would have to vote Intercooler for your setup.

We just brough in a bunch of Mishimoto's FMIT's for pre-order and I love their Mishimoto Black Intercooler Kit w/ Wrinkle Black Piping and would highly recommend it. Not only will the intercooler add some horsepower, it will also cool everything down and allow you to make a ton of power down the road while looking great!
