5.0 fender badge removal?

Anyone got any advise? I have soaked mine in alcohol trying to lossen them and the still won't budge.

Not so sure about that! I've read on this forum that the 5.0 badges on the front fenders have two studs on the back side, and holes in the fenders to receive and align them.

Steve is right. Blow dryer and fishing line. I've done it.

If you get the UPR 5.0 badges they come with the alignment tabs.

Knowing where the alignment pins were defiantly would have helped, here's photos for the next guy.

UPR 5.0 Badges

Curious thing though, My UPR badges had cutouts on the back in the shape of the square and round pins but no alignment pin. I had to eyeball it.

Our gloss ones do not have the pins. Only the Flat ones do. On this forum, we do have a template we made for the 2.3T emblem which will work for the 5.0's too

Ill see about getting one on our website so anyone can print it off for alignment.

I masked off the emblem with painters tap, used a heat gun on low of course to heat of the glue and I used a plastic putty knife to pry the emblems off. Pretty simple

Did you guys goo gone the fender before applying the new ones or just stick them on top of a little left over adhesive?

Don't half-ass it...you'll regret it if you do. Use WD-40, Goo Gone, Goof Off, or the like to get the adhesive off. Then use denatured alcohol to remove the residue from the cleaner.

This. The last thing you want to happen is it not stick or be flush and you're back to square one or just looking horrid. Take your time, be patient and make sure it's spotless before applying the new badge. I created my own template with the old 5.0 badge and body shop masking tape that I use for detailing to make sure it was all lined up too before putting them on. Since I have the gloss ones I don't have the pilot pins in my badges for the sides.
