The difference is the 50th Anniversary cars are just regular Mustangs with a trim package. The GT350s are totally different models with a lot of innovative and special engineering. There's nothing like them today in the marketplace. Plus, with even the tiniest of Ford's 3,000 dealers paying the $1K fee to get on the GT350 bandwagon and receive one car a year - preventing most of the top 100 dealers from getting more than 2 or 3 for the 2016 model year - you're not going to find any GT350s languishing on dealer lots.

There will be a few insane dealers who put a GT350 in their showrooms, surrounded by velvet ropes and marked up $50 or $100K, but those cars really aren't for sale. The dealers have made the decision to "own" them until they get bored with them - and then they'll lower the ADM to move them out of inventory.

On thing we have in our favor is FORD is building 12 new "SVT Type cars" by 2020 right? Well we have the new; 1) Raptor 2) Fiesta 3) Focus 4) GT40 5) GT350 and its only 2016..............so in the next 4 years we will have 7 more vehicles to drool, buy..etc... over, so there is a great chance this GT350 will be old news next year...those that are waiting for the right deal....MSRP or less will get there way..no doubt. We know a GT500 is in the mix...a buddy of mine a FORD said there is rumor of a Mach 1 with the suspension of the GT350 and the V6 ECO boost engine with 550+ HP and the GT500 with a ECO boost V8 700+ HP (did not say it was a Coyote) So get a good deal or do not buy..these when the bubble burst the air goes out quickly and it going to happen fast..mark my words..lol
Yeah my dealer said something about Mach 1, Boss 429 (which I really can't figure out), Bullitt.. who knows?

It didn't really dissuade me from my path of wanting the GT350. The FPC Voodoo is a must have for me.

The Shelby GT350 looks like it will be a great car. The fact is that it is a want and not a need. There is no way a dealership is going to get me to fork over 20K for a great car that is not a necessity. The car looks cool, performs well and sounds great! How many other cars out there do that??? In that aspect the GT350 is not limited. Corvettes, Camaro Z28's, Camaro ZL1's, BMW M4s, Jaguar F types, Future Mach 1s, and Future Shelby GT500s etc... There are so many cars out there. 5000 GT350s are more than enough for the people who are actually want one at MSRP. The most rabbid people that want a SHELBY GT350 are Ford Mustang fans. 75% of the people that will buy one are previous mustang owners of one version or another throught time. I have driven a different versions of Mustangs since I was 25 years old. A Camaro lover is not likely to buy a GT350, A BMW guy is not likely to buy a GT350, A Porsche Guy is not likely to buy a GT350 etc... Yes you have some rich guys who collect stables of many cars but people like that are few and far between. ADM is a fever that will pass quickley.

There's always the exception. The only Ford I've owned before was an SHO... the Yamaha engined one. I've had a few Vettes, the Magnum, a Porsche Macan for a little bit, a couple BMWs and few other GM cars.

But I really liked the previous gen Mustang and I like the current one even more! So the GT350 takes the cake.

Wow, these generalizations about GT350 buyers are so far off, it's incredible! I'm glad I don't fit your mold...

There are always exceptions to any rule. Please take a look at peoples signatures and stats listing what they have driven in the past. You will find the vast majority of them are repeat Ford Mustang buyers. Brand loyalty runs very strong unless someone has a very bad expeirience with a car or they get screwed over. I didn't say everyone that buys a GT350 previously drove mustangs I said about 75 percent of them will and there will be plenty enough GT350s for the demographic of people who really are serious about buying one.

It might be that a high percentage of mustang6g members are Mustang owners. :-)

Spa2k and GreyForge I think you will be interested in some statistics from this post so far. 39 different members have posted to this thread so far. Of them 29 of them are current or previous Ford owners that is 74.3 percent. 10 people who posted never owned a Ford before that is 25.6 percent of which two of them are definately not interested in buying one. Dr. Chill who drives a Z-28 posted " Glad I bought my Z-28 for 22K less than the ADM posted for it" and TYGT350 who said "F#$K it I will just buy one next year". There will be 10,000 GT350's built but there are not 10,000 people out there who are in the demographic segment and in a position to buy a 60K mustang let alone adding a 5K, 10K, 20K ADM on top of it. This whole ADM thing is fueled by panic, fear, lies and ignorance. The people who rush and don't believe the limited lies will get burned. Where do you think Ford got the 5000 number from??? Years and Years of selling 5000 Shelby GT500s. Just enough to feed the market but not too many to saturate it. Everybody who really wanted a Shelby GT500 got one with a few left over. There was no need to pay the ADM for them in the begining either.

People who come here are people that are interested in this car. They are the ones who are scrubbing forums, PMing each other for information and dealer contacts etc. It is a fair representation of the over all market. Z-28 guys are not likely to switch over to a Shelby, Hemi guys are not likely to switch over to a Shelby, A BMW M4 guy is not likely to switch over to a SHelby. Where is the flood of new buyers going to come from and descend like locusts and buy up all of the GT350's? It is a myth and not going to happen. The GT350 isn't even going to draw many people out of their GT PP mustangs let alone pull many out of different brands. It is a niche car that will draw the attention of a small niche of buyers. ADM not warrented only the fear and panic of "Oh crap they will be all gone son I gotta get mine!" is driving the ADM right now. It will fade like the morning fog as the sun rises.

You know there is a brand new never titled, 2014 Shelby GT500 with 5 miles on it for sale on E Bay under MSRP of course and someone probably can get it for even lower. I remember when people said "The Shelby GT500 is the greatest mustang Ever made" "The most powerful Mustang Ever" "It will do over 200 MPH" "There won't be enough made for people who want one" "Pay ADM because it has a bigger engine that the 2021s" Blah Blah Blah. There are still brand new 2014 Shelby GT500s out there collecting dust. I am not falling for the myth, panic and fear that GT350 will go extinct before people who really want one will be gone and coughing up any more than MSRP. Even those that will have to wait until 2017 I say 20K in my pocket is worth the wait

Does not seem to fit.

Definition of PROFITEER

: one who makes what is considered an unreasonable profit especially on the sale of essential goods during times of emergency
Point of clarification. Profiteering applies to any scarce, rationed, or necessary good. Some here argue they won't be scarce but right now they are, whether they are a luxury or not. No argument that you can walk away. But if they weren't scarce there wouldn't be an ADM.

We're talking cash purchase, now we have people talking lending laws and LTV and crap. Cash money I can come in and pay whatever I want even if the seller is overpriced and I want the house that bad. There is absolutely nothing illegal with a seller asking for cash only sales. But the point was cash offers- the people coming in agreeing to ADM are likely paying cash.

And well let's not compare a necessity to live like drinking water during say a hurricane to luxury items like iphones of GT350s. The drinking water 100% doucebag. The luxury items it is what it is if you want the item. But iphones they make millions, everyone who wants one has one about 1-2 months after that rush; there isn't a cap on units per year.

The scalper idea is a bit different too, that is buying a crap ton at list value and then marking them up essentially blocking out the market completely by an individual not the direct seller.
All the examples are different, obviously, but they have one thing in common - taking advantage of an artificial or temporary scarcity to make a quick buck.

There have been many non car luxury items that were initially rare. Remember the Nintendo Wii? Every time it was individuals trying to make a few extra bucks on ebay. NEVER a retailer. Gamestop, Best Buy, every retailer sold at msrp. It was always individuals that gouged. Businesses simply didn't do it. It simply wasn't worth the bad publicity to make a few extra dollars.

What floors me is most of the people who complain about the car having an ADM would find a reason to not purchase it any. If half the people were offered the vehicle at MSRP they still wouldn't purchase it. I don't get the point in post after post complaining about dealers and ADM's. There are literally thousands of posts about nothing but that. Buying a car first of all comes down to more than just price. Secondly if someone has the money to pay 5k more over sticker and it makes them happy good for them. Congratulate them, tell them they bought a great car, and then keep your opinion to yourself if it's really that negative.
