I agree. I'm not into that, but I can understand why some might.Since when is it anyone's business but the buyer's whether he or she pays ADM??? :frusty:
No worries man, I can understand your stance, and if the buyers allow it, then it is what it is.:ford: YEP.
Exactly my point. There are plenty of buyers that will pay the ADM and they're going to get their cars and enjoy them while most of us won't. No big deal and no reason to be so bitter that you won't or can't pay an ADM. If i had a million in the bank, I probably wouldn't care if I paid extra to have what I want. Sucks for the "working folks" like me that don't have the extra to spend, but if someone doesn't mind blowing a few extra thousands, don't blame the dealer. That's business. And I know this for fact, that customer couldn't care less when he gets those keys and is grinning ear to ear.Since when is it anyone's business but the buyer's whether he or she pays ADM??? :frusty:
Right?! Trust me, the real estate market is gouge central right now in certain parts of LA. When I bought my home, I was amazed at how many people send in OFFERS over "sticker". lol The home I really wanted I lost to a chinese cash buyer that was "$50k over my offer which was already $7500 over asking. :(No worries man, I can understand your stance, and if the buyers allow it, then it is what it is.
Some people also have no problem dropping 1 million+ on a tiny old house in my area
If I'm in the market for a GT350 I'd like to know what others are paying, wouldn't you?Since when is it anyone's business but the buyer's whether he or she pays ADM??? :frusty:
Well, no one on this board has ponied up and admitted paying 10k+ over, but I know for sure at least a few cars have sold in the 5-7.5k adm range, while many have also secured MSRP deals. If I'm in the market for a GT350 I'd like to know what others are paying, wouldn't you?
If everyone is paying an ADM I'll wait. If folks are getting MSRP or less I'll buy one.
Knowing that these cars would command an ADM, for this year and even the year after, i wouldn't be opposed to paying a $5-$10k ADM. Anything over that is ridiculous.Well, no one on this board has ponied up and admitted paying 10k+ over, but I know for sure at least a few cars have sold in the 5-7.5k adm range, while many have also secured MSRP deals.
It really depends on your area, if you have a relationship if your dealer, and if you are willing to travel far/ship a car or not.
I'm normally that way, but my principles won't allow me to pay ADM. I drove the 2nd WRX STi off the dealers lot at MSRP when they finally came to the states. Ditto with the Porsche Macan Turbo. Yeah, the GT350 is gonna be more rare, but I'll work on my patience. :-)Knowing that these cars would command an ADM, for this year and even the year after, i wouldn't be opposed to paying a $5-$10k ADM. If thats what its gonna take to get one of these, well then, so be it. Im not gonna sit around and twiddle my thumbs waiting for a dealer to drop down to MSRP when, realistically, it'll be a long while before a dealer does that.
If i want my car now, i want it NOW. Its my money, and i have no issue paying up, despite what others think.
I understand what you're saying but, there could also be improvements in subsequent model years as well for added value.Depends upon want BUT as I have warned you guys;
MSRP is NOT set in stone. Be careful before you flip off a dealer in the $5k ADM range.
I don't like it and I understand (and agree) with the negative reaction.
Ford jumped the MSRP of the BOSS 302 between the 12 and 13 models. They saw what dealers were getting and took some of it for themselves in resetting the price.
GM did the same thing with the 07-08 Z06 and recently jumped the MSRP of the C7 with the popular Z51 option in the middle of the 1st year of the new Stingray build. Their excuse was to lower demand--BS, dealers were selling out instantly with ADM and GM redetermined what the market would bear for the cars and repriced AFTER getting all the media attention of car vs price and what a steal it was.
Thus there is the issue of MEDIA. Ford (like GM with the C7) is sucking up big time with the media on the "bang for the buck" attitude and being under $50k. But how many $50k strippers will Ford dealers actually order- about none. But ford (and the dealers) will have gotten their free media.
OK- you guys gotta realize that initial price point plays out ONLY for the initial magazine articles. By the 2nd year (or with C7 Vette mid year 1st year) the media has already run their "great price for the car" articles and has moved on to the next big thing. Ford (GM) have already gotten their big dose of free publicity to drive the market. The mags notice but make very little of the MSRP jump the following year as the auto media is looking at the next wonder machine.
How many people here read Road & Track, Motor Trend, etc in which the magazine wrote a major article about the MSRP increase on the 2013 BOSS 302 over the 2012? Anyone spot any media outrage? NONE of you did because the magazines didn't write those articles except minor blurbs covering model year changes.
Now-I'm not an believer in ADM and clearly not in favor of people paying it. The more people pay it the more dealers are encouraged to go that route. BUT if you really really want a GT350 and you find the perfect (exactly what you want) car..before giving the bird to the dealer understand that you may get a MSRP deal with a 17 or 18 MY car but with MSRP increases for those years your actual purchase price may be the same as the 16 with some ADM. You didn't save a penny by waiting.
Ford got and is getting HUGE media attention about the GT350 for $49,995 (with destination and G Guzzler tax) and you had better believe Ford set that under $50k price point on purpose to get media attention. That will be old news for the 17MY and I'm expecting at least a $3k MSRP increase for the 17.
I'm not saying pay ADM but understand the auto business guys before you make instant judgments.
