After getting the news that the dealer that I had thought I had an MSRP deal from fell through I had given up on finding a GT350 near my home. I had been talking to the original dealer since November about an MSRP deal...which they led me on to believe would be just that, a GT350 at MSRP! Anyway, the deal fell though last week when they wanted to talk about the "Price". I have since been shopping for a '14 Z/28 and had the lead of a few at discounted prices. Just for the hell of it I sent out 6 emails to dealers within 50 miles of my home about getting a GT350 at MSRP. I will be placing a deposit and ordering one at MSRP tomorrow that is guaranteed to be delivered by the end of 2015 per the owners words and his regional Ford rep! And now I received another email from a different dealer that has an allocation available at MSRP...they need a $1000 deposit! After I order tomorrow I will send the dealer info to the first person that sends me a PM with their contact info, but not until I order (I want a back up plan just in case!). What a turn of events!!!

Question is that deposit:
1) refundable?? ( 1st right of refusal/ noncommittal)
2) will the dealership cash that deposit immediately of hold it in escrow, uncashed???

Been following this forum for awhile since I heard news about the 5.2L flat plane on the GT350

Former owner of e92 M3 and B8 S4

I've been contemplating an M4 at the end of the year but waited for the GT350

It'll be my first american car.

I'm hoping some dealer in Norcal or even Socal will want to work with me at MSRP.

I want the base car with tech pkg.

I am in Atlanta and have spoken to a few dealerships.
Everyone of them is getting order slots but none are selling them at MSRP
Best price that I've been quoted is 5k above MSRP.

Guess my goal is to get one ordered for MSRP sometime this year.
Your best option is likely dealerships in rural GA. In the past, Billy Cain Ford in Commerce has ordered GT500's and same for Jefferson Motor Co. in Jefferson. Not sure if either one might have allocation, but you might want to try giving them a call

I will save you the trouble and say its likely not going to happen. I have called almost every big dealership and 20k over is the lowest I have been quoted (with 100k over as the highest:crazy::crazy:).

I did not check in so cal, but i just can imagine it being any different

I guess my $ can wait. I remember the same happened with the C7 Corvette when first buyers had to pay a premium. A year later, many dealers were doing 7-10% under MSRP. I was one of those that was willing to do MSRP but none of the dealers in the bay area were willing to work with me. Haven't looked at Chevy since.

:)

Let me guess-- Future Ford (Roseville, Sacramento and other locations) was at $100,000 ADM?

PM sent! Hopefully they are willing to work with an out of state buyer if you end up passing it on

The highest I've experienced has been $60k for an R. The lowest, $7.5k for an R as well.

Every BIG dealership? Maybe that's the problem? Smaller dealers in the middle of nowhere are more likely to have a better numbers?

Then again, I don't know about the whole Cali scene and could be completely wrong, just trying to say if you really want it and NOW just branch out.

It's been a couple of years, but I remember Future Ford and some others were asking $20k over MSRP

It was actually fairfield ford, and im guessing it was a non-R since they said they only have 1 allocation. I didnt bother any of dealers in the metro sac area.

I have tried those as well, they are either already sold or since they only have 1 allocation they are asking huge numbers or going to just order it and let it sit on the lot and hope a sucker comes and gets it.

Should be an awesome car! I'm sure it will be worth it when you are able to drive it away and we are all still waiting, watching, wondering... :D

edit: and thanks for posting your real experiences and thoughts. I think a lot of people aren't so forthcoming.
