Was leaving work. Slow shift from 1- 2.. BOOM..So what happened? How did your trannys go out? Lack of fluid? Wrong fluid? Defective parts? Few burn outs and it just went out? This is just mind boggling if you ask me. MT-82 transmission has been out for a long while you think ford would be able to get it right at least in there back yard. You would think this would happen to some global shipped cars more often than the states.
mine broke kinda the same way. I got on it a little bit at a stop light. Accelerated up to the speed limit 1-2-3 and then costed which is when the ticking sound started. Wasn't anything too crazy I was still on surface streets so I was probably like 70-80% throttle. My honest opinion it's just a defective part. Like quality control type issues not every single one it's the same part. Im thinking it's a different part and like every 1000 or so units 1 has a bad gear or something. Because Really other than myself and a few others there isn't really that many of these stories. There is a lot of People being ultra paranoid but they don't really have an actual problem. Like on this site 3 Or 4 out of how many thousands of 550 mustangs out there plus all the people who don't even get on forums. If this was the same part every time there would have been a tsb or recall by now. I was just the lucky one that gets to experience the build quality of the Chinese :frusty:So what happened? I was thinking the same thing you recommend any clutches?Well at least hopefully the next one that is hand assembled by your local dealer will be much better. I would take the opportunity to swap out the clutch and flywheel if mine was torn apart to see if I could get a discount or free installation.
I have been meaning to call but I really don't want to call and hear the same thing you did. It would just end up pissing me off! I've been trying to have a good attitude about it but it's starting to get to me so I'm trying not to think about it. I'll have my wife call tomorrow they seem to like her more. I guess I was bugging them too much and got sick of me :rant:Well. June 1st is here. Day 35.. Ford has no updates on the status of transmission units. Latest ETA we knew of was sometime around the end of June.
How about you Trent ? Any update from your perspective ?
This shit sucks.:frusty:
I actually started reasearching this and I'm unsure where I should file this. I bought the car in Utah but it's sitting in Washington at one of the dealers... Both states have virtually identical lemon laws. Didn't know they would have to repurchase the car back from me or replace it. I think the Utah law says they will deduct .23 cents a mile. that would be about $1500 with the miles I have. Both states say if no resolution or reply from the manufacturer within 40 days then you would fall under the law. So unsure if its 40 days or 30 days of the car being out of service. Washington offers a free arbitration process Utah does not and would be up to the manufacturer which you have to accept their terms/offer. You have to file a complaint in Utah through paper mail haha. Both also say you have to submit a written request to the manufacture to replace or repurchase before a claim can be made as well... I'm only on day 19 though so this would all be DieZel at the moment.Guys I would really recommend looking into Lemon Law. People filling lemon law on vehicles might make Ford say "Hey we need to get these cars lined out and more parts available for them.
