If you or one of your parents has served in th U.S. Military, seriously look into USAA auto insurance. I switched to that from State Farm. My insurance premium basically got cut in half. I won't do business with State Farm again.
I am a USAA member. I have Geico insurance on cars, USAA on home. Every six months I give USAA the opportunity to quote me. They keep telling me much higher numbers than Geico. Though, they do say that no one can compete with Geico in the state of Georia.

I have 4 vehicles, 2 new (one is the Mustang). Three drivers, one of which is my 20 year old daughter with two traffic tickets and 2 chargeable accidents in the last 2 years.

I have full coverage on all the vehicles with $1000 deduct on collision and $50 deduct on comprehensive.

I pay $1700 per 6 months. The Mustang is $447 of that cost. My daughter's portion is $852.

So.......I have not found another insurer that can come close to Geico. Great pricing and great service.

YMMV

Well I called them about my windshield and they set me right up with a glass company, I ended up wanting to go with another company and I called them and they changed it. They did that this morning and I got the windshield done a few minutes ago...I think they are only in a few states right now though so you might not be able to get them, metromile.com

How are they on actual claims? I have never made a claim for stuff that's happened to a car before, outside the one accident I had. But I feel like I might be more willing to make a claim on a brand new car, than older beat up ones like I am used to.

I haven't had any real accidents since I've had my insurance with them but with the couple fender-benders I've encountered they've been terrific.

Yup, not in NY. I just checked. :(

Sorry man..
It's all good. My insurance is only going to go up about 35 dollars a month if I switch, which I am going to for sure. So I can't really complain much about that. It is a bit higher than I had estimated though, so that's never fun.

That's a crazy quote...When I got mine I was actually scared because I was quoted $300-$400 by other companies...Geico was by far the cheapest and I live in Socal (24 years old, with one point on my record). I was quoted $200, just myself, but I got my family to all switch over and it dropped to $150.

Geico has a ton of discounts they offer (student, marriage, job-related), something is not right with that quote.

None of the discounts apply to me lol. I checked. :( And yeah, the quote is so ridiculous, I don't even know what to think. NY has very high auto insurance, it's why so many people here lie about their addresses being in other states.

Damn I'm 28 with no at fault accidents ever, been driving since I was 16, and my mustang costs about $200 a month from Progressive, and then my A4 is like an extra $20. I really would like to find a better company with better rates, but it's not easy. I've tried quotes from all state, and state farm, both being more expensive.

I guess I don't have it so bad with geico.. I'm paying 150, but I'm 23 and have a speeding ticket on my record and a accident that was blamed on me (car hydroplaned)

I find it pretty funny that we have the same cars, mine is an 03 audi though. :p We do have similar quotes it would see. I will look into progressive, and see if it's lower than what I am paying now.

455.00/6 months on my GT with Geico. In TX, 44yo.

A far cry from my first Corvette, which was mostly uninsurable at age 17 :)
