Tune for new exhaust?

With the Ford Racing Sport Exhaust, am I supposed to have the car tuned now that it's installed?

A cat back makes no more power vs. Stock. Dynos have been done that showed 1-2hp and nothing more.

Getting a tune done with a catback won't make any difference vs. Stock car getting tuned. Cat back = sound

Honestly I hate adjustments, don't have time for it........and that is why I don't mess with tuning. Tuned my SRT's in years past and seemed like I could never get right.

I totally understand. Maybe something to pursue later down the road if you choose. After you're warranty expires?

As much as I hate it unless you get rid of the cats and get bigger headers the catback from any aftermarket vendor won't make any more power.....think about it.
If you had a straw and 90% was huge but the beginning was tight as soon as it hits the bottleneck you'll lose flow. So once the whole exhaust is changed the power especially with intake and tune is HUGE power increase. A catback just adds sound

LOL. I remember Gibson advertising 25-30 (or so) HP gains with their cat-backs. The value of their exhaust speaks for itself so I dont know why they are quoting these figures.

I would pick the catback that sounds best (from the samples I'm hearing I'm leaning towards the Corsa Extreme in black), the 1-5 hp gains mentioned are accurate. There is also a decent bit of weight saving, which by itself wont be noticeable unless your butt is calibrated with gyroscopes but perhaps if you did the whole diet (wheels, driveshaft, battery) the cumulative wt loss would.

One note is that long tube headers, while giving power gains (paired with a cat back) will do so at high rpm, with torque loss at lower rpm. I would consider this if you were really racing a lot. Otherwise, if you want big power consider a vortech or something. I'm doing neither. Maybe in 6+ years if I tire of the car I'll look at an s/c.

I am personally keeping the CAI and tune for post warranty (2.5 years away). Will keep things fresh and exciting. Priority for 2016 is cat back and perhaps some lightweight square setup wheels, if I have some more disposable income and the data supports it, perhaps even some street/autox suspension improvements and wheel hop reduction kit.

I had my local dealer install the Ford Racing Touring cat back system and I'm very happy with the sound. Was told by the dealer that only 2 brand of tuners DON'T void your warranty. One was SCT and I can't remember the other one. Was thinking about getting the SCT X4, which says it adds 24 hp and 27 ft-lbs of torque. That'll total 459 hp...not bad at all!!

technically all tunes that are not ford racing can void your warranty. Its up to the dealerships discretion.

We just installed the Gibson on our '15 GT. As for power increases....dunno. That's the least of our worries since we've got the power needs met with a VMP GEN II TVS blower.

But, I can tell you this:

Install was a freaking snap.

Fitment was outstanding. Even the tips naturally centered up in the valance. Never seen THAT before!

Lightweight.

Sounds freaking awesome. Reminded me of Borla Tourings on my 07 GT500 with LTs and no cats.

Highly recommended. In fact, we've not had them on the website, but they will be for this weekend's sale!!
