Man, I would have KILLED to do my Driver's Ed in a new Mustang back in 1970!

I took mine in a huge full size Dodge (I forget the model but it was a boat) the school had on loan from a local dealership and my mom and dad had a barge-sized Old's '98!

While I feel sorry for the poor Mustang, the student(s) are super lucky!

I took drivers ed in a 81' Ford Fairmont 2.3L, that was some slow driving!

I took driver's ed in high school back in 1976 & one of the cars we got to drive was a new V8 4 speed manual Firebird. Fun times.

It's probably not your standard driving school. I have seen a few Vettes in my area that are student driver cars.

I drove a shitty automatic cavalier. The teacher (also a gym coach) would have us swing by his apartment close to the school. He would go inside about 5 minutes and come back out smelling like a liquor store.
Teaching is such a noble job.

Maybe it's an advanced driving school and they are heading to an empty lot to learn how to do a few burnouts and work the linelock? Naaa...not a GT.
Gotta admit though, that driver will be let down when they get home to their beater!

Oh man, that takes me back. My old drivers ed teacher was fired about 5 years after I graduated. He got busted for DUI. We always said he was drunk on the job.
I remember the day I was second driver and in the back seat waiting my turn. Old guy started to get in the car and I slipped the whoopee cushion under him as he sat down. Pphtphhtphhtphht..... Old guy jumped up quick as the little girl driving was laughing at him. At that time the assistant principal was walking by. His name was Pinky Gerard. "Pinky! Pinky! Hey Pinky! You see what this boy just did to me!!!" "Yep, about time someone woke you up!"
It was hard to keep a straight face the rest of the drive that day. :D

I don't think you can really call your drunk gym coach a "teacher".

But I also took mine with a gym coach, but in a mid 90s blazer. I had already been driving for 3 years before getting my license (dirt roads in my first car- 1975 Datsun 280Z!), so the instructor didn't have to catch a buzz to be able to ride with me.
