Evidently they need some extra time to source the rear trunk reflector from Huffy Bicycle Corporation and JCWhitney for the cheesy rear spoiler.

Could not resist. :D

Hehe, just had a quickie look on C----o 5, and they must be too embarrassed to put up the April figures. Also it said, for the March figures that the comments section was closed...!! Gee, I wonder why ??

That dude...OMG....I have never seen anyone like that in MY LIFE on a forum of any kind. I get a twitch when I read his stuff. I also lose IQ points.
It only took that tool eight hours to chime in over there, but he did not disappoint! Now the 2010 refresh of the Mustang was a direct response to the introduction to the Gen5 Camaro, not because the S197 body style was already five model years old when the 'Maro went on sale. In addition, he sprinkled in his normal amount of 4th grade-level commentary.

Looks like this could be the year of the muscle car (or whatever you want to call the big 3).

Challenger is on pace to sell 68,000 +
Camaro is on pace to sell 72,000 +
Mustang is on pace to sell 128,000 +

The sales of the Challenger are really great for Dodge. They have made a very steady increase in total sales from year to year. I wonder where these sales come from? Are they taking away sales from their own Charger?

The Challenger has appeal because it is the closest car in the market today that equates to the old school muscle car concept. In the 60's Mopar had the Charger, Coronet, GTX, Roadrunner, etc as the full-size muscle cars. The Challenger and Cuda, while big for the segment, were pony cars.

Now Dodge doesnt have a true "muscle car" concept, IE a full size car with two doors and comfortably seats 4, aside from the Challenger. The Charger R/T/SRT/Hellcat are powerful sport sedans.

I once worked in the auto industry and had contacts at the regional level of the Big 3 and the Mopar rep said it best:

"The Challenger is for the people who really need a Charger but are not mature enough to get a 4 door"

It's the car you can live with on a daily basis but still have a great time if you just smash the fun pedal to the floor. It's not meant to be a corner carver, or a road course dominator. In Mopar's view the Viper is the road course car...it's just a shame the price of entry is $85,000.

I'm really glad to see that the Mustang is doing so well. Exclusivity is not something I expect from a $25k car. I'm more interested in a huge aftermarket and plenty of parts available.. looks like we'll have it :D

Challenger is expensive for what you get and way over weight not surprised there sales are the lowest. Will be interesting to see how the 2016 Camaro does not that it looks anywhere close to as good as the Mustang.
The advantage of the Challenger though is a useable back seat for anyone over 12 yoa. I do not think GM will see nearly the sales increase that Ford is experiencing with the S550. The new Camaro just looks like a refresh, and I don't think there will be as much weight reduction as Chevy is claiming. I predict a slight increase with the next gen Camaro that tapers off while Mustang sales stays high.

The Camaro is like an ugly chick. It can lose all the weight it wants, but it's still gonna be ugly. (From what ive seen so far)

My main issue why I haven't bought a new mustang is financing. You can get a 2015 explorer for 0% to 60 months or 1.9% for 72 months! Why is the mustang a ridiculous 3.9% for 60 months and 5.9% for 72 months! I have perfect credit and I'm almost to 800. Is this seriously the best they can do? I'm thinking about looking into financing through my company's credit union or PenFed online. I hear they have great rates.
Financing should be the least of your worries... once you are sure you want a car, get pre-approved and walk in with a check that says "pay up to". Of course, then ford will beat that rate because they would rather you pay them.

Did Ford sell 2200 '15's in Europe alone? That is already well over the 10% Ford projected for sales overseas overall.

Man, it could be closer to 20% if 2200 is true.

That's 15,300 sales in the US and EU alone. Very nice, still not impressed...

Well that's disappointing. The '65 sold 559,451; we're gonna be hard pressed to match that with anemic sales figures like this.
In 1964/65, the minimum wage was $1.25 ($2,600/year at about $6 in 96 $s)

Mustang at $2400 to $3500

In 2014, the minimum wage was/is $7.25 ($15,000/year at about $5 in 96 $s)

Mustang at $24,000 to $45,000

Of course Average Yearly wage is quite different from the Minimum, but You decide why!
