again, pressure differences cause temperature drop. If you are really interested put a mechanical gauge immediately after the turbo and one past where it goes up in size after the intercooler. the drop in pressure will account for the temperature drop.

However, an air-to-air intercooler on a car doesn't have anything remotely close to a enough of that kind of pressure change for that to happen. Large pressure drops/increases is how air conditioning systems work, but it's not like that on an a2a FMIC.

If you want to go back to that topic, then go back to that part of the thread were the topic was opened and closed on the same page. Read why that test in particular showed the results it did and why it moved below ambient. I'm on my phone or I would dig through. Let's hope tonight stays on topic, which this is one of them but it was already discussed and answered.

So....guess this plan is not in play anymore?

I answered this question in the following post. Buy-back/Exchange program is one in the same.

The second part of your quote above still holds true. If you have any MAP product currently and are looking to upgrade to our turbo kit there is a discount to be had.

so assuming the person modding the car is staying on a stock block. the safest power is 400/400?

$2,100 for phase 1 kit gives 330/400
$3,500 for phase 2 gives 400/400

i might just end up buying phase 1 unless the stock block can support higher hp number. still waiting on videos of the new turbo please

I think phase 2 is now pushing 420/420 with a few tweaks to the tune they just did.

I wouldn't get too caught up in concentrating on just the peak numbers. I'd bet that the increase in the area under the curve is what really separates phase 1 vs phase 2. Not to mention being able to pull into higher rpms.

The biggest power delivery difference is 4500rpm and beyond. The stock turbo continues to die throughout the rpm range and the big turbo kit holds the power all the way to redline.

Herr_Poopschitz - The response is VERY nice, off boost is still responsive and not too laggy and the turbo hits very nice if you drop a gear and hit it. I really like dropping into 2nd gear at 40mph and just hitting it. Boost hits and breaks the tires loose and you take off.

400hp+ is capable with the stock engine, I would recommend head studs and to swap the valvesprings while you are out just as a safety precaution. You wouldn't be able to hit 400/400 easily with 93oct with the smaller turbo but a 6266 will do it definitely and still safely. If you really want to make some power, drop some RaceGas in your car and get it tuned accordingly either by myself, or a local tuner FAMILIAR with the EBM and EBM Tuning.

I'm going out right now to clean up the car and do some street pulls to check load, will post final numbers in the next day or two.

Reminder - Pre-order for the turbo kit open, just shoot me an email to [email protected] if you are interested and we can discuss.

Previous customers of MAP will receive a discount!
