I'm looking for a better tire over the stockers since the Turbo kit will be here shortly and as the title says, would you recommend them in a DD car? I would get the 305/35R19 for my stock wheels. They seem like a pretty beefy drag radial and I don't think they would favor well in the rain, what are your guys experiences?

Would you recommend a different tire? I was also considering a BFG g-Force T/A KDW in a similar size. I want to stay with a 35 sidewall so please do not even mention the 30...

yes they are fine. Got about 8k miles out of them. Went through 2 sets of them. Great tire. Just slow down in the rain.

Everything I've read says they're not good in the rain. I had them on a previous car. They hooked better than a non drag radial but nothing like a MT.

You can drive the NT05R in the rain without any serious issues, just dont be pushing the car hard thats all.

I'm sure the 2015 Mustang is much better in the ran than the S197, but I've had some extremely close calls with summer tires on the highway in the rain (2007 GT)

If you are daily driving your Mustang, I'd go with the NT555's. Better tread rating

Well it doesn't appear they make the 555r for a 19" wheel and the widest the regular 555 is 275 so I'll pass on them. Might just get the BFGs then.

will launching the car with 05R's on the drag strip help with wheel hop? people say the car launches differently with drag radials.

I drive daily with M/T ET Street IIs. As long as you arent agressive in therain you should be fine. Im in Miami and its constantly raining down here, I know quite a few people who have lost cars due to driving in the rain with DRs. If it even starts to sprinkle and im in the S550, I switch to that snow/wet driving mode and it takes all the aggressiveness out of the throttle. I think caution is the key to using DRs as daily drivers.

My car does not wheel hop on the Mickey Thompson's, only time it wheel hopped I forgot to turn traction control off. It did wheel hop on the stock Pirelli's.
