Hey guys! Just something I thought I would share and ask a question regarding an interesting topic... That is mileage. I have came to the conclusion when I was driving earlier that I have only had my '15 Mustang for almost little over a month and I already have 3,200 miles on the odometer. :clap2: I use my Mustang as my DD for my short commute to work, but I have also driven it across the state a few times to go see friends and have fun (typical 19 year old thing). I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but I posted a thread discussing how I am addicted to my Mustang that I feel like I have to drive it everyday to keep my sanity up (taking late night trips to get food, driving on curvy roads just for fun, etc). In a way, I know my car is brand spanking new and deep down I do feel bad about putting mileage on it because I know it's depreciating and costing me for faster future repairs & maintenance........

But at the same time, I also don't feel bad and here is why: I got my first car when I was 16. It was a brand new 2012 Kia Soul. I had it for three years until I got in an accident and totaled it this February. I only had 29k miles on the odometer. I was a mileage freak and I hated the thought of even driving it across the street or even a mile out of the way to a gas station because I felt bad for it's sake because I had an emotional attachment to that car.

Being in that accident has taught me one thing: Enjoy the hell out of the car you have right now because all it takes is a nice quiet stroll down the road and someone can come out of nowhere and mess that all up for you in the split of a second. Cars are meant to be driven. I look back and wish I had driven my Kia Soul like a bat out of hell and enjoyed it before it was taken away from me so fast.

Do you feel bad about putting mileage on your Mustang? I'd like to hear what all you guys have to say!

Cheers  and safe drivin'! :ford:

i also find myself taking random trips at night just to drive it again.. but overall have only put around 600mi on it in a month since my daily commute is pretty short

I take drives just to drive. There's something about cruising with the windows down and music on, nowhere to be and nowhere to go. Unlike any other activity I have come across so far in my life.

BTW, I do this right now in my '01 Explorer Sport. God help me when my S550 gets here in the next week or two.

I agree with you though; cars are meant to be driven.

At the moment I do because it is a lease. I'm only allowed to put on 12,000 miles a year, but I'm already at 1,000 miles in two weeks. But I'm planning on buying the car after the lease is up, so I won't have to pay for miles over the total limit. So in the long run I don't care because I'm going to own the vehicle.

I have 1300 miles on mine and i had it a little over a month. When i first got it i put on 500 miles in the first week. I wanted to just drive it every chance i got. My commute is short, but lately I've been really busy so i haven't had any chances to go on leisurely drives. I do want to keep the miles down though.

If you check book prices a couple of thousand miles does not really make a difference in most cases, just drive and enjoy it!

I'm about to throw some extra cash towards my loan after having already put a decent down payment down. That way I'll never be upside down on the loan and also it won't matter the mileage I put on it. I love getting in it after a long day of work or heading out to do something. Puts me in a good mood every time. I don't know if you can put a price tag on the instantaneous satisfaction and happiness I feel when I get behind the wheel. So few of those moments in a day.

It's a car, specifically a performance car, it was built to be driven and enjoyed. Garage queens are an insult to their very nature.

DAMN, and i thought i felt bad for having 1900 miles in a little over 3 months. I do have another vehicle for daily driving purposes, though. If the sun isnt shining i do not drive the Stang. That has become my rule. With the weather thus far in April, it's looking like she may sit in the garage more than i like! It has rained all but one day so far lol.

Buying a car like this and not driving it is like buying a steak and not eating it.

I've never understood why anyone buys any performance car to wrap it in a bubble. The fun part is driving it!
