Two factors...first, it is spring!

Second, Camaro buyers know there is a new one coming out so they are waiting to see what it looks like in May at the intro.

Since this sales data is comparing March 2015 to March 2014, remember the Mustang was in the same boat as the Camaro at the time, the S550 was on the verge of being introduced and some buyers were waiting. April should be similar....May, another story. We shall see!

Wow, Challenger overtook Camaro? That's a rarity. I'm surprised the Camaro sales are this low even with the 6th gen coming, that's not for awhile. Mustang sales didn't slump THAT hard a year in advance. The Mustang sales started slumping about 6 months before the new launch.

Pretty impressive.
Since the first of 2015, Mustang has sold almost as many units as Camaro and Challenger combined.

My personal opinion is that it is due to test driving all three with similar trim levels.
When I did that the Mustang was the standout of the bunch and sales are saying that others have the same opinion as me.

I'd say 6th gen coming probably impacts sales a bit and the car is also now old.. What's also impacting it is that the Mustang is brand new and people will flock to it more.

There was no fresh pony car competitor for the Mustang when it was a 2014 model for people to run to.

Good sales out of the Mustang for sure. Should shape up to be an excellent year.

The Challenger is based off of a 20 year old Mercedes platform and hasn't had a redesign since it came out a decade ago. How do sales keep increasing every year???
