In 1964/65, the minimum wage was $1.25 ($2,600/year at about $6 in 96 $s)

Mustang at $2400 to $3500

In 2014, the minimum wage was/is $7.25 ($15,000/year at about $5 in 96 $s)

Mustang at $24,000 to $45,000

Of course Average Yearly wage is quite different from the Minimum, but You decide why!
Sorry I am late. :D
I did see a docu in Germany about the car industry. Car prices are calculated at a average 10 month income of a worker. Selling a Mustang in 1964 for $2,400 and in 2015 for $24,000 still shows how car prices are calculated.

My point was that in '64/'65 they made over 500,000 Mustangs and about a quarter of that in '14/'15. Maybe income is not quite keeping up with car prices.

The Main Topic-Excellent sales

13,000 units/mo is the pace Mustang sold at in 2003-4-5-6 when there was no direct competition. Given all of the well engineered and just as powerful competing choices, 13K sales is really "moving the needle" in this 2015 market.

Has Camaro5.com / Camaro6.com abandoned posting sales figures? The numbers are out and the Camaro websites do not feature April.

Using the inflation calculator $2,400 in 1964 is $17,900 in 2015 dollars. However, car designs have not stood still either. Regulatory requirements have added costs which include seat belts and air bags, ABS, IVD, catalytic after treatments, engine management technology, etc. That early 1965 Mustang was pretty basic (even had a generator). The base car today (at what, $23,000) has a V6 and a 6 speed with 300 HP (the 1965 had 110 HP I6 with a 3 speed), FM radio and Sync, push button start, HID headlights, power steering, power windows, locks, and brakes, etc.

Over 15,000 sales in Americas and EU alone is getting into Fusion territory. The S550 has surpassed the 2005 Mustang in monthly sales record I think.

I'm impressed now... I think that was all of the initial shipment :(

No UK yet, I suspect less than 1000 for sure.
