Where is the red, white, and blue tri-bar on the 2015 Mustang?

Anyone else think it is strange that on the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang that aspect of it's heritage is missing.

The 6 cyl rear badge has the tri-bar but totally devoid of color.

With the Mustang going "international" in 2015--time to dump the old red, white, and blue from the car?????

Yeah--new design , rebirth argument can be made but if you look you at the 15 that argument falls apart all kinds of heritage nods...GT honeycomb grill looks taken from the '65, two tone 50th interior from the old "Pony" interior, Wimbledon White --original 1st sold Mustang color, tri individual tail lights--taken from old the 1963 Mustang II concept, LEs triple glass side windows creating the old 64-66 fastback look, Ford PR photos of the WW LE with a 65 in WW to stress the heritage and historic tie etc.

Why not have the chrome pony/tri bar in use with say the wheel center cap for a touch of the original.

All the classic nods are there..just no red, white, and blue. And the LE in just white and blue--with that 3 color tri=bar wouldn't red, white, and blue LEs have made more sense.

Oh, the LE owners got a gift pack from Ford. In it is a phone battery charger with the Chrome on it...in your car color...W White or K. Blue. Interestingly the little flyer with with the charger shows the charger being made in there colors....red, white and blue...just where did that red LE go?

Haven't thought of that but you are right. Can't wait to hear what others say.

I would have taken it off if it was on there. The s550 is far too clean and minimalist too have something as brazen as that. I like it just the way it is.

Well, now that you point this out I see your point. It would have been very easy to make a US only color tri-bar if export markets were truly the concern. Interesting.

On the 'red' anniversary version; maybe the wonderful looking Ruby Red was going to be it and the decision was made to make it available to everyone at the extra cost. Just guessing...

I love the Tribar, I'll be putting one on a black billet grille when I can afford it. I think they we're going to go with Red, White , and Blue for the LE's but that changed. They also had SAT radio in the base cars as of pics I saw last May- but that didn't come to pass either. I don't think Ford is "dissing" America. I'm sure the Tribar will come back on a new Mach 1 or Boss, or another specialty Mustang. This car screams America. Much like wether or not a politician wears a flag pin on their lapel, having the colors of our flag on the car isn't neccessary to show its an All American ponycar.

If you're not driving a Ford, you're a communist.

Good point OP, and I feel similarly to CooterK. It feels like a way (for International advantage) for Ford to separate the association of the Mustang and the USA.

No offence in intended in my post, but there is a distinct impression one gets of the USA, especially the cars, and sleek and modern are definitely not the first words that spring to mind.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the culture, it is just different and I could see it being a little too wild and strongly flavoured for some international peoples' tastes.

Myself, I should have been born in the USA. I love shooting pistols, love my Harley, love Mustangs, and love living in the forest. All of these things are very accessible in the USA, and are on-the-whole more widely accepted as good things.

Mustang and America...

I hope that Ford is not trying to make the Mustang a 'truly international car'.
I have relatives in Sweden who are determined to buy a GT when it becomes available. They are getting it precisely because it is the 'definitive American Muscle Car'. When I told them that I had ordered a EB convertible...their comment was "your not getting the V8?...but it's not a Mustang without that exhaust!". By the way they already own a couple of Harleys. They hate the sound of BMW and Honda bikes.

I was rather offended when my '14 Mustang GT didn't have any red/white/blue tri-bar ponies on it. I remedied this by swapping in the 2013 Boss 302 front grill which has this emblem and I installed wheel center caps with the same emblems. 10 years ago I had the tri-bar emblem tattooed on one of my biceps, thinking that it had always been on Mustangs going back to 1964 and that it would continue indefinitely.

I especially dislike the 2015 V6 rear emblem that is just chrome without the colors. Thinking back to 9/11 when many Americans vowed that our colors won't run. Too bad our colors have run off the Mustang. Come on, Ford, bring back our red, white, and blue!!!

Hm am I the only one that finds this topic ridiculous
I'm with you on this. Ford and the Mustang is distinctly American. Anyone who knows even just a little about cars overseas knows this. Ford is not trying to hide it's heritage...

If anything it was left off so some clueless Europeans don't think it's the French flag. The tri-bar emblem is basically the French flag inverted. And if you put it on a wheel cap? French flags will be flashing at you non-stop when the emblem inverts as the wheel spins. :p
