I ordered my GT convertible on 3/16, and it showed up in COTUS on 3/17 as In Order Processing. I have been checking back with COTUS and Ford Service (Jeff is very helpful), for a build week and VIN, but don't have anything yet.

Is the build week and VIN assigned only on Thursdays, or could it be any day of the week? I want to know if I should check COTUS during the week, or only Friday mornings.

I got my VIN and build week at the same time. When my VIN was assigned on Thursday morning, he had my build week the same time. This was at 8am ET.

You should have your build week now that you have a VIN. Odd they cannot tell you that.

He doesn't have a VIN yet. Just keep checking back on Thursdays, that is the day when cars are scheduled for being built.

Vins are assigned on Thursdays only. Maybe this week you'll get yours, just keep checking throughout the day Thursday.

Out of curiosity what is your priority number off your Dora? I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I just researched this recently after mine seemed to be taking an eternity to schedule. Scheduling takes place on Thursday's and it will happen only if your dealer has an allocation slot opening in that particular week. Priority only matters when more than one car is in waiting to be scheduled from the same dealer. So, if it does not get scheduled this Thursday you will have to wait until next Thursday at the earliest.

There is a good explanation of how this works in the wiki I believe.

I don't think the explanation of allocation can be overstated enough. If the dealer doesn't have allocation, your car just isn't going to get built. It's a good idea to always ask if they have allocation for the month your ordering. Smaller dealers or lower volume dealers may have a harder time with this.
