The more I see and read about it the more likely it will be my next car. Especially if Ford Performance offers some nice tunes/parts.

I'm quite stuck with getting the RS or a higher performance RWD car. I drove a manual '15 Mustang GT but I just don't know if I can have a "plain" car. Meaning not the higher model such as the GT350. The RS is the GT350 of the Focus world. Granted, a Focus still can't be compared to a powerhouse 2 door coupe but the RS commands respect no matter who you are.

I agree with you though, the more I read the more I am leaning towards this car. I've been reading all I can on it ever since I heard they were making it. My ST is a blast to drive but it's simply not powerful enough.

If this came in an Automatic, I would be all over it. Damn these niche cars and their manuals....:frusty:

Ha that really made me smile. Pretty cool getting that kind of support on a Mustang forum. I can see how some would shrug it off as "just a Focus" but it's going to really give a lot of higher horsepower cars a run for their money. Still, it's not a V8 and I want one of those too but can only afford one.

Any reason why you don't like the manual? That's the only way I'd buy a car like this so I'm glad they're only offering it with 3 pedals but I can see how some would be bummed if they're physically not able or just don't like to shift.

I bet if I bought this car and I told some of my "non car fan" friends that I bought a Ford Focus RS.....they would probably crack a joke. Or they might say..."you bought a Focus?" I don think there's a stigma with the Focus, is there???

Only true car fans know the awesome history of the RS. Maybe I'll just say I bought an RS, hahaha, well if I decide not to buy the 16' EcoBoost that is.

I can't wait to see the other remaining Ford Performance car releases yet to still come !!! Wonder what else we are in store for??

Very true, most people don't even know what the RS is (including Ford salesmen ugh) but the enthusiasts would appreciate it for sure. I don't know if there's necessarily a stigma out there but I know that some will have a hard time accepting the fact that a Focus can be considered anything other than a "cheap economy car." Just don't tell people what you spent on this car ha, that'll really get them scratching their heads. I think it'll be money well spent though. 320+ HP with AWD is damn tempting in Michigan...

I just never got into the manual transmission. I tried to learn but just didn't like the experience. I think its like the old saying "he can't chew gum and rub his belly at the same time" sorta thing.... If it had a paddle shift set up like the Mustang it would be great.

Ahh gotcha. Sorry to hear you don't like the manual but at least you gave it a shot.

I been working at the Javits center in NY the past few days and got some auto show pictures before anyone else. Each day more booths come together. But in the Ford both as of yesterday. Ford looks like they are stepping up there booth big time this year over the past few years of boring displays.

They're definitely making a statement about its grip by hanging it up there like that. If that's how Stealth Gray is going to look (even if it is a clay model), then I do believe that I have decided on the color that my RS will be.

I did consider a Mustang GT for quite a while, and I understand the appeal of a 435hp naturally aspirated V8 coupe. The 2015 S550 in Ingot Silver would have been my weapon of choice. However I do live in Canada and there is no question that a good AWD system (with proper snow tires) is the way to go in winter. AWD in summer would be almost as good, I love the sensation of prodigious grip at all times. On top of this, the RS will be a hatchback, so it will be practical as hell. I can haul my summer/winter wheels around, fit suitcases as easily as loading bags of groceries, stand plants upright in the hatch area, etc.

I do believe that I described it as an AWD rocketship that can go just about anywhere, and do just about anything. It doesn't matter what the weather condition - short of a natural disaster - I can hop in the RS, initiate launch control and take off for great justice.

If rumors and tid bits from certain insiders are to be believed, the RS will have about 345 - 350 HP, and will almost certainly be able to hit 400 HP with a tune and some mods (hopefully with the blessings of Ford Racing and Mountune). It will wreck the current STI and Golf R as far as performance goes, thanks to the advanced AWD system with *real* preemptive torque vectoring, and of course that upgraded 2.3L EcoBoost under the hood.

I'm pumped for the RS, shitty 10 year old cars like the 2015 STI need not apply.
