Oh I understand it all.

If Ford was smart, they'd bring it all in house and develop it themselves with no 3rd party.
Sorry but I disagree. If Ford were super wealthy and had no desire to turn a profit they would bring it all in house but they are a vehicle manufacturer not a software designer. In this century the only way to make affordable vehicles to sell to the masses is to partner with outside suppliers. They're not Apple. Even Tesla outsources many components to their vehicles. I know this because we make some of them in my factory.

Obviously they don't wan to make every aspect of their car, just like Apple doesn't make the processors or screens or other components, etc... and these interfaces/infotainment centers are key selling points to vehicles now.

And what a shame, IMO.

Give me Bluetooth and keep the rest. Hell, I would have ordered my car radio delete if I could have.

What link did you use or how did you get them to send you that coupon? I've had no luck so far.

I just went to the Ford.com site and asked for emails on updates and offers. I have asked for this on all my email accounts.(3) This was probably 6-8 weeks ago. I received a brochure about 3 weeks ago for the Mustang, with no coupon. I sent in another email request about a week ago. From what I've read, it really is hit or miss. Just keep sending them an email every 4-6 weeks using different email accounts. :ford:

I think a lot of it might depend on location and corresponding stock of cars. I've done this a couple of times and no magical offer outside the $500 I already can get.

If SYNC 3 is a deal breaker for some, don`t think for a nano-second that it will be offered as a (stand alone) Option on Base configuration MY 16 Mustangs. Ford wouldn`t offer Sirius Satellite Radio as a stand alone Option on the Base MY 15 Mustang Convertible. The good news is that (if) you Order a Convertible for MY 16, "maybe" they will have the missing Tonneau Cover Caps available and shipped in the Trunk along with the carpeted floor mats by then.

It will replace MFT in the premium trim (most likely) or be a standalone upgrade for premium cars (least likely).

I'm hoping they roll nav into it by default, but

What I would LOVE for the '16MY....

1: Grabber Blue

2: Drive modes for the base GT both in auto/manual flavors.

3:Standard Sirius/XM. Yeah I get it, "just stream pandora hurradurr". I do not want to have to use my data, period. My craptacular Avenger had standard SXM, a freakin Mustang GT should too.

Will I get what I want? Nah, just an update to the Premium models, which I will not be buying, and wheel choices maybe, also on Premium, see previous statement.

Early "Pre-Production" photo`s of the MY15 S550 "Base" Radio`s showed the Satellite Button. Later, last minute number crunchers said nope. Instead you got a "Mute" Button, lol. The Sirius/XM hardware module must be (very) expensive. Thats why both Kia and Hyundai include it as "standard equipment" in their cheapest 12K Vehicles, both their Rio and Accent models. Could I exchange the Blade Spoiler for the Sirius Radio?

Typically companies put so many features in the "premium" trims to force people to pay more, thus more profit.

If I could get a base GT with the drive modes, SatRad, and a slightly less ugly center stack, I'd have no need to spend the money for a premium with heated/cooled seats, 9 speakers with sub, etc etc etc.

And they've managed to make it so you cannot add it to a base car, thus forcing you down one street.

Your exactly correct! I chose the "elcheapo" Base V6 Convertible street. Yeah, the "Rental Car" version, lol. I added the 051A Package with the upgraded 18`` Wheels & Tires, Power Driver Seat, Fog Lamps, (but) deleted the Blade Spoiler that was included. Also added the Spare Tire. MSRP including Automatic Transmission was just barely over 32K. Same Convertible with Eco-Boost I4 "Premium" Trim and identical extra Options was going to cost 5K more! For "heated" Leather Seats in FL?:headbonk:
