I dont think they have their own gas tank cause when i was signing the papers the salesman called one of the workers and asked him to go and gas up the car and the guy went somewhere. I assume a local gas station. Definitely not the gas though cause I tried refilling with my own stuff also.

I bought the ESP plus rental coverage luckily before the CEL came up so they gave me a loner while it was at the dealer. Best of luck! Maybe we can get them to issue a mandatory recall or find a fix faster.
just some food for thought...remember the original issues with the MT82 Getrag Gearbox when it as introduced? Remember the countless problems that plagued the vehicle owners? It took a LOT of direct complaints to Ford, various State Attorney General's office for Lemon Law adjudication, and finally to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration who investigated the claims and concluded that consumers had legitimate concerns. It took over three years to improve and fix those problems. Point is, you have a legitimate complaint...Ford s working on it BUT if in your estimation it isn't going satisfactory, send a letter to the NHTSA and report in detail what's going on. I also find it interesting that both cars are from the same dealer and both are California emissions standard (which other states are now adapting but only about a dozen so far) hence perhaps there's something consistent with that type of emission system that is not standard throughout.

I'm not sure. But I think you bought the first time a new car what is also a brand new model. Our Grand Cherokee has his 8 recall. Couple times we got a letter saying the same you are posting: "We are working on a solution. .....Please monitor it closely."
Don't buy a EcoBoost?? What about the burned out GT? Don't buy a GT too? Honestly?
Alot of GT's turning them selves off too! I think any issues especially for a first year car is normal.. Hell theres alot of issues over there at Chrysler group! Especially on the 3.6 cars.. The EcoBoost 2.3 is an Amazing engine platform but its new.. FORD's gonna have to work some bugs out as this entire S550 platform is new as well.. there's gonna be issues.

It sounds like the carbon build up issue they've been having with the V6 ecoboost. It's a problem that occurs with direct injection . I know they are working on it but I haven't heard any new updates .

I would run the best gas available

Whatever I need
Hey poops, I've got a lot of knowledgable on cars but, if you read my complete post you would see I consulted with another mechanic. Read throughly before you start criticizing.

The dealership isn't doing anything more about it. They told me to wait a couple months till Ford feels like fixing it.
Well maybe you should have considered how you titled your post before getting so defensive. "0h my refridgerator is going to explode"!

Noob.

I've seen tuned GTs that people were having trouble with random misfires due to the high variance in spark plug gap from the factory. Pulling your plugs and checking the gap might be worth a shot.

Hold your pitchforks. This is a new issue, that we haven't heard of yet, on a new engine. This will take a little bit of time before a fix is found, probably about a month or so.

This is what you sign up for when you purchase a first year vehicle. Some issues (such as supplier issues) only come out when mass production starts and material issues start. This doesn't sound like a misfire due to ignition, more mechanical. Maybe the flywheel? It's dual mass, and if it is out of balance for whatever reason, it can twist the crank, causing the pistons to be out of alignment, and there's your misfire. Do you all have manual transmissions?

Changed coils, double check spark plugs and change them again still misfires on cyl 1 normal driving it's fine do a full throttle pass and there will be about 150-170 misfire counts every time like clock work do enough heavy throttle driving and the code will set its inevitable

lms didn't have any insight any one else have a thought or just wait till you guys deal with ford i guess.

I have an auto and car seems to run great so doubtful it's a bad cyl. Car has less then 2k miles

In a new production line, specially brand new redesign, brand new engine, most cars will be fine, but you will have one or two lemons like OP. Mines has 800 kms and no issues so far.

I have a little over 2,500 miles on mine. Apart from a rear tire blowing out and having driveshaft issues, it has been getting along just fine.

While it's frustrating, at least you know that Ford is said to be working on the issue to resolve it. If you want a band-aid fix, they might could do that overnight, but proper engineering to resolve an issue can take time. Not only that, but there's probably other issues they're working on that could be in front of it in the que of things to fix as well. Things take time.

In the mean time, if it does damage the engine, then Ford can replace it with a new one. That's the point of having a warranty.

For what it's worth, I don't think they'd lie and tell you to drive it if it was indeed causing damage. Why? Because if it causes damage then that's more money Ford has to spend to fix/replace parts, engines, etc.

Edit: BTW, my car is a non-CA (federal) emissions car.
