Hey Folks - I thought I was set in my tires that I wanted but now, maybe not?

Anyone out there running these tires? I had my mind on Michelin PSS's but came across these and their performance is equal or better in what appears to be all areas but lateral G's. Just a tick less. But a quite a bit cheaper with a bit better treadware. I bet a set of 4 is about $400 bucks cheaper running 275/35/20 and 315/35/20's.

Thanks for anyone that has real world experience. This includes our vendors:D

I've never had them, but what I've heard from those who have is that almost every aspect of the tire is great except steering response. They also give up a little grip to the PSS as you know, but from what I know they're an extremely good street tire.

My PSS' got really loud once they wore down to 4-5/32", which is the only knock I had on them.

Thanks for the info. Not sure if the MPSS are $500-600 better than the Conti's and what I will do with the tires. Not sure I would notice the handling difference but I bet I would notice the better wet weather performance. That money difference covers my Livernois handheld and tune:D

I think if your going to a road course once or twice a year your better off saving the $$ and getting the Conti's.

That is my thought process, too. I will keep the PP wheels and likely buy specific tires for those for when I head to the track so as not to mess up my other wheels and tires.

Todd get the Pilot SS you cant even compare I honestly never liked the Conti and I tried them 2 times and luckily one car was sold shortly after and Conti had a 60 day trial so i was able to exchange them at the local store for the Pilots. I also was deliberating over the cost aspect but once i saw how the steering response and grip sucked it was worth the extra coin for the Michelins but it also depends how you drive your car and what you expect out of it. If your a cruiser the Conti DW will suit you fine but if thats your use consider the Nitto Invo as its cheaper and rides much better

Another tire you should consider are the Bridgestone 050 or the RE11 i tried these on my BMW M3 and Porsche and they were great tires for the money and track use.

I was looking at the Conti's as well. Had them on my fusion, I liked them. Also looked at MPSS, I understand the seem to be the hands down most recommended tire and probably for good reason but they are pricey. I ended up just ordering the Hanook Venus Evo2. A buddy of mine who I trust and who had a couple mustangs and an M5 and has also used MPSS, says they are great tires. I am not tracking it at all, saved $400 and I am sure they will be plenty good for my use. If you can save some big bucks, I am sure the COnti's will do well for you.

Was this based on that other thread? The PSSs will reign supreme my friend. :) but I've heard very positive reviews from people that went with the DWs.

Pss outranks the DW, but the DW is a damn good tire as well pricing is drastic on the difference though by a few hundred bucks, at the end of the day its your decision.

I've never had the DW's but I ran the DWS on many different cars and they were a great all season tire. From what reviews I've read the PSS pretty much reign supreme but like others have said, the DW is probably a good tire. I've had a lot of driving time on Bridgestones in my S2000's and for me at least, I would consider those over the Conti's if I didn't want to get the PSS.

Kind of, LOL. I was curious of the competition to the MPSS and started looking around and these were better in wet vs. MPSS but a bit behind in dry traction. The price difference when shopping on Tirerack is over $500 by going with the DW's. As I mentioned before. If my car is going to the road course, I will buy tires that fit on my stock PP wheels. So that has no bearing on my daily driven setup.

I am just trying to determine if the MPSS are worth that price difference for my usage. Right now, I can't see how they are:D

Off the wall question: if these are your DD tires and you don't plan to track them, why so wide?
