Hey guys ... I just joined the forum. I'm looking to possibly order a GT Premium with the GT performance package in Magnetic Gray.

One of the options I want is the Premier Trim package on the interior. I've read some existing threads, and it sounds like you get better leather material, more stitching seams on the seats, different material on the door panels and dash board.

Question is, with the ebony premier trim option, is the stitching/accents color white? That's what I'm assuming from what I'm reading, and is there also white stitching on the dash and door panels? This is the only confusing part of configuring the interior options. Thanks for any help to clarify this.

From internet photo searching, it looks like if you order the "Red Line" premier trim option, you get the red seat inserts and red stitching on the black pieces like the dash and center console lid, etc. Anyone know if that's the case or not?

Also, I'm debating on maybe getting the non-premier trim option on the Magnetic gray with the dark saddle inserts. Does anyone here have that combination? I see a convertible in the Mustang brochure with that setup and it looks OK, but I think all ebony Premier Trim option with the white stitching might look better overall.

Side note - it took me some time to figure out that the dash trim piece that goes around the A/C vents goes to dark charcoal color vs bright aluminum color when the GT performance package is ordered. I originally thought it was part of the Premier Trim package, since it's interior trim. Tricky stuff there Ford. :D

Check out this post on the red line stitching. Was kind enough to take some detailed shots for me. I was sold and ordered mine with the red line on black GT with PP. I've seen a few magnetic PP with red line that looks great too.

I have a two tone saddle like color on my Explorer Sport and love it.

saesteve416 - thanks for the info. Yes, the black and red line premier trim looks killer on black. You're probably drooling just waiting for yours to show up. That color would probably look nice on Magnetic also since it's a pretty dark gray.

I'm thinking the ebony premier trim has the white stitching everywhere. I believe the 50th Anniv seats are the same as the ebony premier trim option with the addition of the 50th Anniv logo on the front seat backs. I saw the 50th Anniv interior in person, and did notice white stitching on the seats.

The Ebony Premier trim does have the white stitching everywhere except the steering wheel.

I have the Raven Black interior with the 50th Anniversary Appearance Pkg and I have white stitching on my steering wheel.

Yep, white stitching...it's the best cheap option on the list. Pictures don't do it justice.

Thanks for the inputs on the Premier Trim option.

So here's another question on the interior color options. In the 2015 brochure on the page showing all the exterior and interior colors, the seat color option #5 says "Ebony Leather with Perforated Inserts". And option #9 says "Ebony Vinyl with Perforated Leather Inserts".

Then at the bottom of the page there is a note that says "9, 10 – Premier Trim With Color Accent Group".

So this means with the Premier Trim option in ebony, you get #9 which is the vinyl with perforated leather inserts.

Can someone explain the difference between #5 (leather reference) vs #9 (vinyl reference)? Is there more vinyl used in the premier trim option? More confusion ...

I think you need to add the red line option to the Recaro's to get the red stitching, otherwise they come with white stitching.

I have the white stitching, just that i don't have it around the steering wheel and the soft touch material around the center stack.

Tama,

IIRC, the 50th Appearance Package added the white stitching on the steering wheel, in addition to the Premier Trim package adding the white stitching (and soft-touch) on the dash.

To the OP:

I don't have the brochure in front of me, but regardless of package, the *seating surfaces* are leather (the butts and backs). The outside surfaces are vinyl. Either way, you'll want 68B (Premier Trim). Trust me. :-) It adds an extra stitch/panel to the seat bolsters, changes the door inserts to perforated leather, and upgrades the dash and upper door panels to soft-touch materials.

(Anti-flame notice for old-time members: I know this didn't necessarily apply to early builds, but I think we can all agree that this was the factory's intent, and is likely to be consistent going forward.)

You are correct that's what I had to do when I ordered my car, that is just about to be shipped. I have the 401A, premium interior, red line and Recaro seats.

Seriously that seems to go against what we see in saesteve416 pictures. His pics clearly show non-Ricardo seats with red inserts and red stitching on the dash and console.

That's because he probably ordered the Premier Trim with Red Line option, which is red seat inserts and red stitching on the dash, seat, center console and shift boot.
