We went out to the NMRA Spring Break Shootout this past weekend in Bradenton, FL with our Procharged S550 and some drag radials to hopefully run some numbers. While we didn't get to run any good numbers, we did some impromptu research and development on the limits of the stock clutch.

The Verdict:

600RWHP and Drag Radials = Bye Bye Stock Clutch

Were you there Saturday? I was really dissapointed in the numbers for the 15's. Eco's were in 14-15 sec range and GT's were doing 13+

Yes I was there all weekend, but did not run the actual True Street Event, due to the clutch issue. Hurt it on the final test pass at noon. Coastal Dyno wehn mid 11's N/A and we went High 11's with a bad clutch. I did see a few ecoboost run 16s. BUt it seems like that was more driver than car.

Ah, I think I was eating a canned pulled pork sandwhich at noon. But yes I agree on the drivers, not one 15 did a half decent burn out to warm their tires before each race. I'm actually mad at myself for not joining the burnout contest as there was only the two contestants, and the kid in the mini van only lasted 5 seconds or so.

Finally decided on a RAM Force 10.5 Twin Disc. As soon as its here we will have an install thread that will include a clutch line upgrade and an MGW shifter.

What will you be replacing the stock clutch with? I have a d head Procharger with 668 to the rear wheels. I'm looking for options.

That sucks bro. Did you ever get in a decent pass? Saturday morning the track was working great when I went 11.60. I really expected more 15s there. I was a little disappointed at the turn out.

We went with the RAM Force 10.5 900 Series Twin Disc. We have had very good success with RAM clutches, their driveability is awesome, and since the come with flywheel included, the install is a breeze since it comes setup for you.

I agree Sam, I expected to see more. The best I went was 11.97@118 on Saturday Morning. That was the pass where it gave up the ghost. Had to call it quits because I had to drive the car back to Miami. Congrats on your pass, Car is working for you!

lol when my 5.0 was stock (manual with pp) I ran 12.876 @ 112.60 at bradenton and with just an intake and tune now i run 12.530 @ 115.94. If those 15's were running 13+ they were just probably new to the game and/or you have to remember its Florida man.. 80% humidity. The temps are already 88,89,90 degrees out. So your IAT's are completely crap even from just driving up to the light.

Yes you could tell most were new to racing, I also think most do not know how to shut off advancetrac. That messes with all kinds of things.

I was the one running the Ruby Red Ecoboost I signed up for true street last minute and only got one qualifying run in. My mistake and I upped my LC to 6k the car spun didn't get to change it and during true street your not allowed to change anything on the car so I either bogged or spun. The car at 5800 would dead hook and I would cut 1.7 60fts and ran a best of 13.2, I got to aggresive to try to get a 12 second run in and it cost me but you live and learn lol.
