Ok so the wife is almost 12 weeks pregnant now. This is our first very excited! So the question is I want to but a exhaust on. I want it to sound deep and old school if possible. I don't want this to be to much for the baby. I was looking at the Gibson or the MBRP street. I do like the race version. On some of the videos people say it's not to loud in the car. So if someone can help with this I would like to order my exhaust this week. I'm part of the 2/2-2/9 QC hold and I still don't know when the car will be here:paddle:. I just want to be ready for it. I also was thinking of getting a UPR oil catch can. Should I just get the $200 one, but I have heard there just a money gimmick. Hard for me to agree with a this with seeing oil in the cans on videos and people talking.

Gibson is probably one of the loudest ones, I would check out ARH. Heres a quote from a member on here (Husker) on my inquery on the ARH he had installed. He had stainless works, but it was way too loud for his likings. I have MRT, it is an amazing sounding exhaust but it has the same problem as SW, the interior noise is very loud. The FRPP street catbacks may work for you as well.

It (ARH) has more of a low bass frequency at idle + less volume/loudness + doesn't have the raspy sound the SW did.

I say NO DRONE but it's a little louder than stock, has to be. I tested Stock, SW & ARH with SPL Meters, the increase was apx 2-4 dB in the cab between Stock & ARH, not enough to cause Drone or the inability to carry on normal conversation W/O raising your voice. (The SW was around +8-15 dB more than stock.)

Non Scientific MY Opinion:

1-10 Drone:
Stock 1
ARH 1.5
SW 9.5

1-10 Loudness at Idle:
Stock 1
ARH 3
SW 3.5

1-10 Loudness WOT (10 = No mufflers):
Stock 3
ARH 7
SW 8.5 (Little Raspiness)

1-10 Satisfaction of Exhaust Note/Tone:
Stock 1.5
ARH 9
SW 7.5

Bottom line, if ya want some sound W/O drag race volume + NO DRONE, ARH wins hands down-->IMO!

I'd go with one of the street series, mbrp, magnaflow, something that you'll enjoy, but not be too crazy.

let me know if we can assist you in any way

Thanks everyone. The only thing was I wanted to stay in that cheap price range. But you get want you pay for. This is so far the hardest thing to pick for the car.

the mbrp street is inexpensive, especially if you do aluminized

in all honesty, that is what I would do to start, that way you don't have a lot invested in case your not happy

That's what I did. The MBRP Street stainless system sounds great so far with no drone.

Yup i would also suggest the Roush Axle backs as well, they are not loud unless you really get on the throttle and the resanotor is still there with no drone issues! The most quiet would be FRPP touring axle backs. One thing though, if you have an attached garage or parking right outside the door, be sure that the sleeping baby is in a far away corner of the house! The cold starts are mean whatever exhaust you get, they will bark at you first but tame down really quick!

In the womb the noise level is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner. Most exhausts inside the car should be fine for your baby. (I have a 10 week old son).

Magna Flow Street series cat back. Can get one through JEGS for under 1K with free shipping (minimal interior noise or drone but outside sounds awesome) congratulations on your first child too!
