I work for a Nissan manufacturing facility. Whenever I have to go out on the shop floor its always a joy to see! (Probably wouldn't be saying that if I actually worked on the shop floor, ha!)

First thing I noticed is that Flat Rock uses the same presses Nissan does. Komatsu.

EDIT: Another thing I've noticed about American assembly plants in General. No uniform. Just Jeans and a T-shirt! :O

I'm pretty sure I saw the team that installed the CAT's on backwards. So much for robotic assistance.

But seriously, the video has been obviously edited, probably for time to fit on websites. I'd love to see the raw footage from start to finish. To bad the tram didn't stop and let us see the actual parts being installed. GM did that in their video.

Seeing this video does raise questions. Seeing all the stamped body parts sitting in piles on the racks waiting for the robots to come get them so they can be affixed to the car, and knowing that the Coyote motor is built in Mexico and shipped to the Flat Rock plant, why in the BLEEP did it take so long to get my GT? My order was placed when Ford started accepting them from dealers (end of May 2014). The Mustangs didn't start their builds until August 28th, 2014. Yet, I was told September would be my likely delivery date. Delivery?? I didnt get a VIN until 11/17/14 !!! With all the robotic technology and pre-stamped parts what was happening between May and August? And once the cars started being built in August, why was my vehicle that had a deposit (a sure sale for Ford) didn't start it's build until Mid November and was it placed way behind the others that were stock orders?

I can only guess that once the 2015 was announced consumers decided to wait rather order/purchase the 2014 (which was really the same exact car as the 2013). Ford Corporate must have decided to hold up the release of the 2015 in hopes of moving the 14's which were sitting in dealer inventory. So, on 12/17/14, my GT finally arrived at the dealership.

This process doesn't seem right to me as a cash buyer. To be kept in the dark for so long, actually being told I could still get a 2014.. just not the way I wanted it. Ford Service on this site provided great support during my 6 month wait. But I still have to ask what really held up my/our orders

OK, so this one's a couple of years old now, so focuses on the last of the S197s, but you'll get a good feel for the end to end build process :)

The video referenced in that article was already posted here, but was nice to see a screen capture photo of the body panels.

Found this on you tube. I didn't know the mustang and fusions are made on the same line.

This video was posted back in January & I'd suggest editing your post to link to the original video, your link is to a stolen version someone is using to hijack the other guy's ad revenue.

The original link is

Sorry! I'll try to make sure that it's the original before I post a video about something. I'm a little new at most of this forum stuff.
